The Mercedes Benz R350 is four door full sized luxury crossover with available seating for up to seven passengers.  The German automaker offers the R-Class in two trims: the R350 4MATIC and the alternatively fueled R350 BlueTEC.  Either way both models come with a seven speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters as well as 4MATIC all wheel drive and ride on a set of 19 inch five spoke rims.  Other stylish and functional high tech features include LED daytime running lights, automatic rain sensing windshield wipers, Mercedes Benz SmartKey and Trailer Stability Assist with a 3,500 pound towing capacity.

On the inside occupants benefit from 12 way airbag protection, both PRE-SAFE and POST-SAFE active and passive occupant safety systems as well as the optional rearview camera and PARKTRONIC system.  The R350 features three row seating with 2nd row captains chairs standard or an optional bench that brings the number of seats up to seven while the power tilt/slide sunroof with optional Panorama roof provides a skyward view for all three rows of passengers.  The driver and passenger enjoy power adjustable front seats while the pilot will grab hold of a premium leather four spoke multifunction steering wheel with optional heated wood accents and everyone can take advantage of the Burl Walnut trim and dual zone climate control.  Infotainment duties are handled through the COMAND navigation system that is centered around a large color LCD screen, controlling the HD and XM Satellite radios as well as the six disc CD/DVD changer, while the Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 premium surround sound and rear seat entertainment systems are available as an option.

The $52,690 entry level Mercedes Benz R350 is powered by a 3.5 Liter V6 that produces a total of 302 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque while returning an estimated 16 MPG in the city and up to 21 MPG on the highway.  Meanwhile 20 inch AMG design alloys are available as an option.  As an alternative to gas, the $53,840 R350 BlueTEC is powered by a 3.0 Liter turbo diesel V6 that produces 210 HP and a whopping 400 lb-ft of torque through the same seven speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all wheel drive system and is good for an estimated 18 MPG around town and as much as 23 MPG at speed; however there are no 20 inch AMG options available from the factory.

A list of cars similar to the R350 include the 2012 Acura MDX, 2012 Lincoln MKT and 2012 Volvo XC90.
