Owned longer than another
Pros: Reliability and tremendous good looks
Cons: That I am trading it in for an SUVA tremendous car. Only one small repair in eight years (to the a/c controller). Amazing ride and quiteness - especially for a convertible. Have received more compliments on this car than any other I have owned in fifty years.
Advice: run and buy the Chrysler instead. Same carCar is a piece of junk. Stays in the shop, at once, every other month. Customer service is horrible. Luxury prices poor service and performance.
Pros: Cruise control-when it worked
Cons: 8 trips to the dealer for warrantee repairs
Advice: Look elsewhereThis is far and away the worst vehicle I have ever been associated with. I have had it in for repairs 8 different times in 15 months. One of the times was for major engine repairs that took 2 1/2 weeks to complete. Service writer told me that CLK model has many serious issues, I found most of them.
Pros: Watching the roof open and close
Cons: Accelerator needs a heavy push
Advice: An awesome second carI ordered my car in 5/02 and received it in 9/02. It's by far the best car I've owned, and handles very well. The engine is very powerful, as are the brakes. The CLK is a very good looking car with the top up, and beautiful with the top down. It turns heads everywhere it goes. The back seat is very small, but can be used if necessary. This car makes me look forward to sunny days and nice weather. It's very solid, and relatively heavy for its size, giving it a very safe overall feeling. ABS,ESP and Brake Assist only add to this feeling.
Pros: Appearance Package
Advice: Buy ItMy wife is loving her 2003 Ice Blue CLK320 with the appearance package and NAVI. It took 8 months to get it. Well worth the wait. The appearance package with the aluminum replacing the wood and the Charcoal Leather makes the interior. The metal pedals are radical too. This car drives fantastic and handles like a true German sports coupe should. No negatives except only 1 cup holder in the front.
Pros: Keyless start
Cons: Phone has been troublesome.
Advice: Don't buy the voice activated phone. The car handles and drives extremly well. The steering lacks some on feed back. The car is very quiet.
Advice: If style and handling are more important than reliability, get oneThe car is beautiful and handles very well. Comfort was below average until Goodyear tires were replaced with Michelin..at our expense. With the new tires road noise dropped dramatically and comfort improved to C+. Unscheduled service in 40,000 miles has been TWICE that needed by our Cadillac with 110,000 miles and SEVEN times our Nissan with 242,000 miles. The Nissan gave up the ghost...after being hit by a Mack truck.
