Pros: the wind in one's hair
Cons: the constant fear on the freeway
Advice: consider your driving conditions and act accordingly; guard against wishful thinkingI've been driving this car since December 2001, and, while one can quibble about power and this and that, it's pretty much lived up to my expectations. It's been fun. But, as a resident of a large southern city, most of whose motorists are driving SUVs or pickup trucks, I can assure you that I'd never buy another. (I've just been creamed by a motorist who failed to heed a stop sign, so maybe I'm feeling a bit negative.) But I (and my coworkers who drive Miatas, of whom there are several) all recognize that safety in this baby is a concern. Drivers of big and high vehicles often cant see you; you can decide if they care. If you live in a smaller community, or have the option to drive it only for recreation, these factors may be of less concern to you. But if you're routinely driving it on freeways -- well, hey, have fun, life is short. Shorter perhaps than you might expect.
Pros: The way it handles in turns.
Cons: Cleaning inside of rear window.
Advice: Take a test drive and you will fall in love with this car.The Miata I am driving now is my 4th one. I love the way they handle and the fun when the top is down on a sunny day. Will get all of work and bills out of your head.
Pros: During cornering there is no sloppy give in the suspension. Quality looks.
Cons: The car functions precisely as it was designed to.
Advice: Have fun. Compare with Toyota Spyder and others. This is one fine auto.I have almost 20,000 miles on this car. It is a fine auto. My wife loves it. When she happens to have it coming home from work, the top is always down. It handles with ease. It traverses a corner in a playful manner. It makes driving fun. I have also driven it through almost two winters with no problems. I have put all season Toyo tires on it. These are high performance all season tires. My wife and I went on our first vacation without children in 18 years and we had a fine time. The trunk held a tent, sleeping bags, air matresses, clothes etc. Mileage was excellent- 35 plus miles per gallon. I am so pleased with the quality and class of this vehicle.
Pros: six speed transmission, suspension package
Cons: The cabin needs to be a bit more roomy
Advice: Prepare to have alot of fun driving this great sports carI love this sports car . . this is my second Miata. I owned a 1999 new and really enjoyed it except for the cronic front wheel shimmy @ around 65 mph. When I saw the 2002 SE MX-5 in Yellow Mica .. . . I knew I had to have it. There is a big difference in comfort and the six speed is fantastic. We drove it up the west coast this fall and many people were unsure of the make of my Miata. I think they thought they were looking at a test car at first. Great on the corners and don't worry about hi revs of 6,000 rpm's . . it really likes it.
Pros: the looks
Cons: little to small
Advice: second Mitia for metest drive was better than my 1997 mazda mitia, i can feel and see the difference made to improve this vehile
Pros: The way it handles
Cons: Lack of room
Advice: Test drive one to see for yourself!Very sharp car. Handles great, very reliable, high resale value.
Pros: Dashboard, Convertible Top
Advice: Unless you hate small cars, buy itQuick response. Holds the road.
