2005 Mazda MPV - ES
Pros: Electric sliding doors
Cons: Interior 'metal' trim
Advice: Great vehicle, becomes pricey for towing
We just purchased a 2005 to replace our 2000 MPV because we needed it to tow our boat. We found a leftover with the $425 towing package as suggested. One would assume the vehicle would be ready to accept the hitch receiver and wiring harness but no. Required: new muffler, exhaust tip, and gasket in order to install the hitch, making this just under an additional $1000 installed at the dealership. Oh, and lets not forget that the vehicle is rated and advertised to tow 3000 pounds yet the hitch receiver is rated 2000. Include the proper muffler with the tow package or at least include this info in MPV literature. -
2005 Mazda MPV - ES
Pros: outside appearance looks more suv than van
Cons: leg room is terrible!
Advice: Check out leg room make sure you can live with it, Radio reception, depreciates alot nothing like a honda.
After having this van a year I would love to trade in. Have had problems with radio reception (dealership says no problem), Transmission ( dealership had to reset takes 3hrs), egg odor smell (have to watch gas u put in it!) LEG ROOM IN second and 3rd row, my dad can not get in and fit and he is a regular size guy. IF kids are the only ones back there your ok. Had problems with driver electric seat back and forth was rough! dealership says he will only replace it 1 time! The seats are very expensive! This made me mad! If its under warranty whats up with a comment like that! Needless to say this van was the one in the showroom when we purchased so who knows how much that feature was playd with and how long it sat in there before we purchased! The value of it drops to fast for what you pay for it and what u get! Going back to a honda when 2006 comes out! -
2005 Mazda MPV - LX
Pros: Roll down windows on sliding doors.
Cons: No side curtain airbags.
Advice: Test drive it and compare to the big boys Toyota and Honda--you'll buy the MPV!
Drives very well, responsive, quiet, easy. A pleasure to own. Roomier than it appears. Many features, all included.
