Some 43 years after first opening up shop in the United States in 1970, Mazda recently sold its 10-millionth vehicle in this country: a 2013 Mazda Mazda3 that was purchased by customer Lauren Carter of Glen Ellyn, Ill.
"I chose a Mazda because I did the research and learned that Mazda has some of the most reliable, feature-packed cars on the market," said Carter. "Mazda's cars are designed for people who are looking to get more out of their vehicle. I compared Mazda with other brands and models before purchasing and those other cars didn't compare. The Mazda3 is fun to drive and I can fit my guitar and amplifier in the trunk. For me, there's nothing better!"
And yet, things actually did continue to improve for Carter, because Mazda went ahead and swapped her just-purchased 2013 Mazda3 for an all-new 2014 model. Which just happens to improve on the past version in all areas, including fuel economy. Thanks to its SKYACTIV powertrain and chassis technologies, the next-gen Mazda Mazda3 can post an EPA line of up to 30 mpg city/41 mpg highway/34 mpg combined, but without sacrificing on either practicality or its zoomy driving dynamics.
