Mazda Introduces New CPO Used Car Program
Many automakers have offered certified pre-owned (CPO) programs to improve the experience of buying a used car, and now Mazda is getting into the mix with its all-new CPO program. Starting on used 2006 to 2010 Mazda cars, crossovers, trucks and minivans with less than 60,000 miles, Mazda's CPO program is designed to add piece of mind to the used-car buying experience by offering a seven-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Certified Mazda used cars are available at participating Mazda dealerships; check out the Autotropolis dealership locator to find a Mazda dealership near you.
As nice as it is to buy a new car, sometimes it actually makes better financial sense to buy a used car, and buying a certified pre-owned car from any automaker is usually the best way to go. In the case of the Mazda Certified used cars, each car gets a comprehensive inspection and reconditioning to ensure that they meet the standards expected from Mazda. Like buying a new car, CPO programs are designed to add value and instill confidence to factory pre-owned cars over other used car sources such as private sellers or used-car lots.
'Mazda's new Certified Pre-Owned program is designed expressly to make the process easy and affordable for customers shopping for a high-quality pre-owned vehicle,'? said Ron Stettner, VP of Sales for Mazda North America. 'As Mazda was recently recognized by ALG for holding one of the highest residual values in the industry, our new CPO program allows us to provide a never-before-offered level of warranty security that goes with the value for money already packaged into every new Mazda.'?
In addition to the seven-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, each car is also covered by a basic warranty and roadside assistance. For cars under 36,000 miles, Certified Mazda used cars will be covered by the remainder of the factory's basic warranty or, if over 36,000 miles, is covered for an additional 12-month, 12,000-mile basic warranty. There is no deductible or co-pay for any warrantable repairs, but this plan is likely not transferable. All Mazda CPO cars will come with a free roadside assistance plan that last for the entire powertrain warranty period and covers flat tires, lock-outs, flat-tire service, battery jump and fuel delivery. No mention was made about towing in this plan.
CPO used car programs have grown in popularity in recent years and are now offered by a growing number of automakers ranging from luxury makes like Mercedes-Benz to entry-level brands like Mazda. Mazda's CPO used car program includes the Mazda MAZDA3, Mazda MAZDA5, Mazda MAZDA6, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Mazda CX-7, Mazda CX-9, Mazda B-Series and the Mazda RX-8. Buying a used car is always a great way to save money by letting somebody else pay for a car's depreciation, but buying a certified pre-owned car through an automaker like Mazda is a great way to take most of the guess work out of the experience.
