Actually a Vintage 1997 ES 300
Pros: Starts every time.
Cons: Handling could be better in SnowAlways dealer service, a former BMW owner of a 3,5 and 7 Series - I like the Lexus approach to Customer satisfaction. Needed a rebuilt tranny but covered under PT Warranty. Otherwise, solid as a rock and now with 141K miles and plenty of seasons left.. Plan to sell on the cheap and buy a used Acura/Lexus/Infiniti. No more German junk as BMW's are too costly to maintain and overrated for engineering excellence.
Pros: The Navigation and Mark Levison sound system.
Cons: The styling reminds me of the Toyota, although Toyota can't touch it and it will gently remind you, it's not a high performance vehicle.
Advice: It's quite, comfortable, quality, easy to handle, affordable and requires minimal maintenance. The cabin is classy and luxuriousThe engine is so quite you have to get out the car and put your ear to the hood to hear it. It's a very comfortable ride with several sitting options. The sound system is awesome and the navigation system is worth every penny. This is a car you would truly enjoy driving in rush hour traffic.
Pros: Fit and finish
Cons: Acceleration defect
Advice: Don't buy itI own an ES300 and would NEVER buy another one. Don't rely on having instant acceleration for emergency moves. There is a one second delay before the car will do anything. Also, at low speeds the transmission slams into gear and gives the passengers quite a jolt. I have had the car into the dealer to fix this problem and they reprogrammed the chip. No success. Other than these two defects, the car provides a nice sedate ride.
Pros: The quiet engine and the interior comfort.
Cons: It could use more destinctive body styling ... lines.
Advice: Drive one!The test drive is the clincher. You won't know that the engine is running! The comfort is relaxing. This is THE front wheel drive luxury cat.
Pros: I like the comfort and ease of driving. You arrive at your destination-relaxed.
Cons: I would have liked a little more spirit from the engine.
Advice: This is a very friendly car with a comfortable ride.Test drove BMW,Accura.Volvo and Audi. The Lexus ES300 gives you more for your money than the other brands except for AccuraTL.I have always driven performance cars but I find that I now like luxury. The ES has a very nice interior design and great seats for a person with back trouble.
Pros: DVD Navigation
Advice: Get the DVD NavI love this car! The front seats are comfortable but no auto manufacture compares to the ergonomic seats found in the higher priced Volvo models. Get the navigation... once you have it you cannot go back. I have received more complements and head turns on the color of mine more than anything else - Black Garnet Pearl with black leather interior... HOT!
Pros: Quiet ride, Navigation and sound system
Advice: Test drive it and your hookedVery comfortable quiet ride. Interior is luxurious. Navigation System works great. Mark Levinson sound systems belts out the sounds. Trunk and trunk opening could be bigger, hard to squeeze large items into the trunk because of the opening and the Navigation box located in the trunk. Otherwise its a great automobile.
