The most powerful version of the Range Rover Sport currently available is the Supercharged V8 with 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque. For those interested in a little more power, options were limited - until now, that is. Land Rover is teasing a new version of the popular model that will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.
Named the Range Rover Sport SVR, the model will pack a supercharged V8 producing 550 horsepower. No other details have been released, but Land Rover says a prototype will make a run up the the famous Goodwood Hill course in the "First Glance" category. The "First Glance" category includes the likes of the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge and a track-focused version of the McLaren 650S.
Land Rover mouthpieces have also confirmed that the SVR name will adorn more models in the future and will meet the stringent key performance criteria set by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team.
