Pros: Looks Cool
Cons: Everything else
Advice: If you're an idiotA complete piece of 'S'. I've owned mine for one year, it's been in the shop 5, count 'em, 5 times. The work never gets done quick, usually takes a couple of days and nothing is covered under warranty. After 8,000 miles the brakes needed replacing for $750. And let's not forget that from the minute you drive your new Supercharged Range Rover Sport off of the lot your brakes squeek. Talk about embarrasing! I've got clients in my brand new $75,000 Range Rover and the brakes are squeeking all the time?!? It's been in the shop because of shocks stablizing problems, a tire gauge malfunction, a broken a/c vent, and the leather was peeling off of the steering wheel. Buyer Beware!!!
Pros: power and comfort
Cons: having to return it to the garage for repair
Advice: I would buy another one but would need to be confident Land Rover ironed out these problemsI bought a Supercharged 5 months ago am very happy with comfort and and performance, but have had some problems knocking noise in front suspension and a whining from steering the front suspension anti roll bar bushings have had to be replaced along with the hydro lick piston for same, when I got the jeep back the garage failed to fill the fluid reservoir for the same. All tyres wore unevenly and had the tracking re set at 35,000 and four new tyres at 43,000 the back tyres wore on out side, brought back to dealer and they wanted to charge me for tracking? but when I objected they relented and tracked the vehicle free of charge, now the the knocking noise increased in front suspension again an I also have had a intermittent whining from the steering this has also become more noticeable ,I think it is related to the power steering pump.
Cons: The service dept couch (hard and lumpy)
Advice: Purchase but cross your fingersHave had a few annoying problems since purchase 3 months ago. Bluetooth module (replaced) Passenger mirror dip feature broken(mirror replaced) Numorous recalls-all computer software related Service dept- cust service could improve Looks, power, comfort excellent!
Cons: Gas mileage - 11.8mpg in first 3000 miles -half city/half freeway
Advice: Don't cheap out - get sat radio and phoneAwesome car - love the luxury. Its a great (SUV) drive. Love the steering (previously the Discovery had an appalling turning circle, not a problem now). Great car for the city with the turning circle, and park distance controls. I got the Sat radio (recommended) and the integrated phone (recommended, convenient, BUT sounds like you're in a tin box). Problems so far: sporadic warning that there's a suspension fault, happens once a week or so; wiper coverage (fixed in five mins). Would definitely make the decision to buy the RRS again.
Pros: road condition selection as well as height adjustment
Cons: voice activation, very confusing
Advice: road test the competition firstTested the BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and Lexus SUV's in fairness to the competetion they all had certain features that are outstanding. For example, the Lexus has a smooth ride but looks like a shoe box. Mercedes has made great changes in the new ML but according to mechanics I know the car is not yet that reliable. The Range Rover Sport has it all, technology, style, comfort and breeding. I live in the Lake Tahoe area and drive in snow and the mountains, I could not have selected a better SUV.
Pros: The NAV and the sport shift.
Cons: Lack of availabilty at purchase
Advice: Enjoy it and get them to demo the test track! This is probably the nest SUV I have owned! The new style and quality that was put into the RR SPort is AWESOME! Great buying experience from Chris in Frisco ( no pressure) and got a great lease from Land Rover.
Pros: Body style
Cons: Not reliable
Advice: Don't buy it wait for a year until they fix the problemsI purchased the new Land Rover Sport in October,it has been a complete nightmare. It has been in the service department for 27 days out of the 31 days I have owned it. The service department has attempted to fix the compression system numerous times. They are working with the factory to fix this problem. After talking to the service manager, he explained to me that this new model has many problems with the electrical and the compression system. The engine was changed from a BMW and now a Jaguar engine combined with a new model, they are very challenged. Many cars are being returned and recalled. I would not recommend purchasing this car until its been on the market for a year or more. I am still dealing with the general manager of the dealer ship to try to get out of the car versus a replacement. It's a complete nightmare. Think twice about this car.
