    2005 Land Rover Freelander - 4dr

    Pros: The way it rides.

    Cons: Transmission.

Advice: Drive it; if you don't like the way it feels look elsewhere - I love it!

I read all the horror stories, but I drove it and its great! Have owned for a whole year, 14,000 miles, and not one fault! Looks great, does great off road, tows my camper, runs on regular, and carries the kids and their gear. I just love this thing!

    2005 Land Rover Freelander - 4dr

    Pros: none

    Cons: ALL

Advice: The WORST car that I had.

My Landrover is now dead for 85,000 miles. It can not run anymore. The mechanics of Landrover cannot find the problem by diagnostics alone. They have to open the engine to find out but not a guarantee that they will find it. How STUPID this Landrover diagnostics is. Landrover should terminate the Engineer who built this STUPID car diagnostics computer. The service advisor told me that the only thing that can fix my car is to replace the whole engine which will cost me $8,000 plus labor and tax.

    2005 Land Rover Freelander - 4dr

    Pros: look of the vehicle

Cons: repairs, cost of repairs, and lost of value

Advice: I would not buy it again

I bought a 2002 Landrover Freelander in January 2003. The car had about 11,000 miles. I have had to constantly change the brakes and the light bulbs of the turning signals. I have recently had engine problems and after $4000 worth of work at the dealer's service center I was told the transmission needs to be replaced. I have 70,000 miles on the car and it has lost most of it's value.

    2002 Land Rover Freelander - S

    Pros: Appearance

Cons: Cup holders on the dash are a bit out of reach and arm rests would be nice, like that in the Discovery model

Advice: Unless you have to be the first in your vehicle, wait a year, shop around, and you'll save thousands in the long run even with a handful of miles on it.

The appearance first caught my eye but the obstacle course had me driving to the table to sign the papers. Of course, wanting the 'ultimate deal' had me placing the salesman on hold for 48 hours to see if I could beat his best pitch. Glad I did... I found my '02 Freelander in the Spring of '03, 500 miles away for $7,000.00 less and only 8,000 miles on the odometer which included a full warranty. Last Christmas we took this vehicle up north the day after a terrible snow storm. This vehicle proved its worth as it plowed through the snow and ice, leaving most others pulled to the side and struggling to make it to the top of a hill. The only complaint I have would be the brakes/rotors I had replaced (twice) since owning. The service department made that easy to overlook with the best service experience I have seen to date. Land Rover Louisville deserves much kudo's for their entire staff.

    2004 Land Rover Freelander - SE 4dr

    Pros: Ride quality

    Cons: Small cargo space

Advice: Give it a test drive and decide for yourself.

The Freelander sits like large SUV, but drives like a nimble car. Excellent highway cruiser, precise steering with excellent brakes. It is a bit lacking in low end torque off the line, but using the tiptronic tranny in manual mode solves that problem when quick acceleration is desired. Rear seat room is amazing for adults, but the cargo space is smaller than others in its class. I've put 25,000 miles on my Freelander from the desert sand to the mountain snow and this thing rips though all terain with ease. Fuel economy is good. I get 23hwy, 17 city. The worst has been 16mpg and best is 25mpg. It is too bad that others have had problems with their Freelander, because it has been a fantastic vehicle so far and I have no regrets. I test drove every SUV in its class and I chose this one for a variety of reasons.

    2005 Land Rover Freelander - 4dr

    Pros: comfort interior

    Cons: no trunk rook

Advice: This is not the expensive land rover. be preparred for that and you will be happy

drives great on road. engine is a bit slow from stop but accelerates well at higher speeds. No problems, 2005 model seems to be better done than previous models. only complaint is the zero room for luggage and stuff.
