Pros: Roomy and Safe
Cons: Gas cap fit
Advice: Verify the electrical system for Nav operations and gas cap fit.One test drive and I was hooked. Comfortable, but he back seats seem to sit high. My friend is a big man and felt the passenger seat was too small to his liking. But I love the seating, dual moon roofs, comfortable drive. Downside was the Nav system did not work and had to go back to dealer and the gas cap does not shut properly.
Pros: Rugged style over luxury.
Cons: Looking for oil fields unattended!!!
Advice: If you do a lot of city miles it will cost you in gas - but hey buy one before they all dissappear off the lots!Drove both new and used versions. They felt the same! Now there's a good sign. That day we also drove new and used Tuareg's . . . a little disconcerting. Vehicles test driven in the one day; VW Tuareg, Nissan Murano, Used GMC Denali, Used Escalade, Durango. Very surprised at the Land Rover quality for the price. Wasn't interested in waiting for the LR3 . . . it just doesn't have that rugged Land Rover vibe. Probably a brilliant vehicle . . . but at least put the spare on the back door! The SE7 is very compliant on the road, seems like it has quite a low centre of gravity for such a tall looking vehicle. Never gives you that 'I'm going to tip over' feel ever! Both new and used had a small clunk in the drive train when you suddenly lift off the gas and power back on . . . must be a feature. Terrible gas mileage, but no different to our '98 Durango. Easy to drive, wonderful view of all 4 corners. Comfortable seats. Sound system has great definition but very little low end punch. Third row seats are wonderful for kids up to about 12. Dual sun roofs are a hit when the whole fam is buckled in. The Trail II package beefs up the look wonderfully! Even though the LR3 is growing on us - the Disco still wins . . . It's a real Land Rover Look!!!. Hanover Land Rover (MA) were the greatest, low key selling, great people, never felt pressured . . . real people.

Advice: Do your homework and make sure the price of gas isn't a concern.I waited patiently for the LR3 and once it arrived, I was not overly impressed with the exterior styling. However, the interior is superb. I opted for a Black 2004 Land Rover SE7 with the Alpaca Beige Leather Interior and all options except the DVD Player. I received a wonderful deal and the dealer knew I had researched the packaging/pricing. We got right to the point and we both left with our shirts on so to speak. The vehicle has a unique look that can be both refined and rugged. It handles wonderfully. It feels safe. My wife enjoys it and my 19 month old son enjoys the views from his stadium/baby seat in the rear. The 217HP engine does not feel underpowered for the size of the vehicle given the torque. The only downside to the vehicle is: Poor gas mileage, slightly tight rear entry for adults and low steering column upon driver entry. Only have a few thousand miles on it so we haven't had any problems with reliability. Hope we won't. Otherwise, we love the vehicle. This vehicle replaces our Jeep Cherokee. We also own a 4 dr. 328I BMW-Sport, VW Jetta GS and a mint 1981 Mazda RX-7.
Pros: Heated seats
Cons: low steering column
Advice: Get one!.
