Pros: This is a very tought truck that has never failed me
Cons: The Gas milage is about 12MPG, I only drive 10 miles on hte average day though, so it's not too bad.
Advice: There really isn't much difference between the 2000 models and the 2005 models. Make sure they throw in floor mats.I've had my 2002 Discovery II SE for a year now, it has 55,000 miles on it and I've had it since it had 40,000. It a great towing truck with plenty of power and has much better handling than older Discovery I's. Plenty of room and a great quality interior.
Pros: So far, I love the handling, the twin sunroofs, & the 6-disc CD changer. I'm sure I'm gonna love the off-road handling!
Cons: Limited entry-way to back seat.
Advice: It's gonna cost you, but you will NOT be disappointed! By adding in all the options you want at purchase, they can be covered by the factory warranty.Smooth & quiet! That was my first impression when I drove this vehicle. I was looking for a vehicle with 3rd row seats that did not look like a minivan. I needed something that could safely carry my family but that was rugged enough to carry my kayak & bikes. I bought a Silver Discovery SE7 with the Lightstone leather. I had to have the stainless steel running boards & SS A-frame with IFP's. I've had a lot of compliments in the past week of ownership. I feel safe when I drive it. My 1-year old loves looking out the large windows. The standard features list is excellent. As nice as it looks I still plan to take it off-roading... after all isn't that what owning a Landrover is really all about!
Pros: Styling, interior room, off road king, big pimpn' ride.
Cons: Nervous about reliability
Advice: Get your check bookI have only owned this vehicle for 3 days, and 110 miles. I love it. I have heard horror stories about car problems, but I forged ahead anyway. I used to own a VW Jetta (which had more problems than I care to count). Then stepped up to the Audi TT, and even it still had a few problems along the way. Got the Rover, love it, and hope it is a trouble free car.
Cons: Entering and Exiting the Rear Seats.
Advice: Do your homework and you won't be dissappointed buying one. This is an excellent SUV! It rides and handles like a luxury car and yet has amazing visibility and power. We spent a long time looking over this vehicle before buying because we are a family of four with one still in a car seat. So we new that the back seats are somewhat tight to enter and exit, but still have alot of headroom and visibility due to the stadium type seating. Our son absolutely loves the rear seat package, and I would recommend that feature to all families. Overall the best ride I,ve ever had in a SUV.
Pros: The appearance
Cons: Rear seat lack of space
Advice: Make sure your rear seat occupants are small and agile!I recently leased my 2002 Discovery II SE. I am very impressed with the ride quality, and noise isolation. I was, as others, disappointed with the rear seat space! MINIMAL and crowded. My wife rides in the back as we have a 16 month old son, in his car seat. Luckily she is petite! The standard features list is quite impressive, compared to other vehicles in the same 'class'. I opted for the lightstone leather, and the cold climate package, the heated front windshield is a 'first' for me! The power from the smallish 188 hp engine is quite adequate, considering the weight of the Discovery. The comments from friends/acqauintances have ALL been complimentary (re: appearance)
Pros: I loved how the controls for everything were located in the center.
Cons: I wish the back seat had just a little more space.
Advice: If gas is not a concern you will not find a better truck for the price!I was very impressed with how smooth the truck drove compared to others I test drove. I loved the dual sunroofs and thought the stadium seating was really cool for rear passengers.
Pros: Comfort, security and safety
Cons: fuel ecomomy
Advice: Test drive one, you won't believe how nice it rides and the dealer (Greenboro NC) was the nicest I've ever dealt withThis is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It sits up high giving you a commanding view. It feels safe and performs fantastic in the snow.
