    2008 Kia Spectra - EX (M5)

    Pros: The Smooth Drive

    Cons: Nothing

    Advice: BUY BUY BUY!

Test drove this 2008 Kia Spectra EX 5sp and I left the Kia dealer with it! I looked at many cars and fell in love with this right away. Good price no hassle getting car. This is a great roomy car, and I bought it 11/5/07 a month later and 2000 miles on the car now, and no problems or complaints

    2007 Kia Spectra - EX (M5)

    Pros: comfort

    Cons: horrible gas mileage

Advice: look at honda and toyota first

I recently purchased a 2007 Spectra EX. For the the most part the car performs well and is relatively comfortable. The gas mileage has been a nightmare, the sticker said 27 city however I am LUCKY to get 20, been averaging under, sad for a car this size. Smaller problem is the car is quite noisy especially in the morning. Good trunk space

    2006 Kia Spectra - EX (M5)

    Pros: gas mileage

Cons: interior too light in color--gets dirty easily

Advice: Don't pay more than $10,000 for this vehicle --- new ---

hmmm, The biggest drawback is that purchasing a KIA puts more Americans out of a job!! Why can't American auto mfrs produce a vehicle with the same quality and price? Was looking for a quality vehicle w/excellent gas mileage. Had a Mustang, & w/gas at $3/gal couldn't afford to drive it anymore. Excellent on hwy. A little 'doggie' in traffic, stoplights, etc. Interior (carpeting) too light of color. Gets very dirty easily.

    2006 Kia Spectra - LX (M5)

    Pros: Heater (it's winter here)

Cons: Its used and the rear windsheild is really darkly tinted.

Advice: Buy it new and get exactly what you want.

I absolutely love my new Kia Spectra! A definate up from my last vehicle (it was a '97 Subaru Legacy Outback). The ride is amazingly smooth, the trunk space is enormous for such a small car, the interior is roomy, and it handles so nicely. I just can't get over how much I love it. My friend has a 2007 Ford Focus and she's jealous of my car. I'm so happy with this!

    2006 Kia Spectra - EX (M5)

Pros: The roominess, quiet ride, yet strong ride.

    Cons: cheap undercarpet.

Advice: See my review. Give it a serious try!

I've had my KIA only about three weeks. Let's hope the fabulous warranty is truly honored and that little 'goes wrong' in the future. I'm told that past KIA problems have pretty much been remedied by KIA Company. This car is a dream at the onset--a practical dream with a bit of style. Strong horsepower for a still-little car. Great for hill-climbing. Smooth ride too. Both cute and elegant. The interior could be a bit more plush (especially the carpet), but it's nice. The interior's light beige (creamy) coloring and cloth-seats with trim in taupe-like brown -- is comforting and attractive. Carpeting is very basic, little pile, but the mats make up for it. (I added simple plastic glow-see-through mats to protect the nice 'Spectra' mats!) The tire/caps could be better quality, but they're still nice. The 'hidden' roominess of the trunk is fabulous for this size car. The sound-system is not completely top-of-the-line, though close, despite the six speakers; sometimes very good; other times, a little tinny for my 'musical taste'. CD player is usually very good. Mileage is as advertised --- mid-20's in town; mid-30's on highways. I love the roominess of the interior, and the relatively quiet ride. At stops, the engine purr is hardly noticeable ('what engine?!'). And driving -- hardly hear an engine except for a very subtle windy whir -- which is actually quite pleasant! As for resale value/depreciation: for some reason Kelley Blue Book has it depreciating about a third more than, e.g., a Toyota Corolla (yet I still prefer this KIA car). Overall, it's worth a serious try. It has uniqueness. I feel it's a car you could say you 'love', even though it's an economy car!
