Pros: Style is an asset
Cons: Poor fuel economy
Advice: Don't buy if you don't want problems over 60,000 milesOur Sorento LX had been relatively troublefree for the first 60,000 miles, but since, the vehicle has been problem prone. The engine throttle body sticks and causes the engine to idle much too high. The warranty states it would be covered to 25,000 miles. What a joke. The last problem (leaking surge tank) occured recently and caused my engine to overheat with possible engine damage. I would not buy another Kia Sorento if they paid us to take it off the dealer lot.I also have to mention, the Kia dealer would fix both problems for $1,400.00. Stay away from the KIA Sorento if at all possible, in my opinion.
Pros: turning radius and roomy interior
Cons: transmission has unusual shifting pattern.tends to stay in gear longer than it should.
Advice: you must like the characteristics of the sorento to enjoy this type of suvmy wife and i both test drove our sorento the same day we bought it.we were very happy with the results compared with other vehicles in the same class.it is nice and comfortable at any speed without any squeeks or rattles.the power steering is the best feature i liked the most.it turns on a dime!it has a smooth feeling when cruising like a car,but yet it is an suv.also is quiet and handles any road situation with ease.kia put together a nice one this time.
Pros: ALL OF IT
Cons: GAS MILEAGE BUT FOR A TRUCK FRAME AND STEEL BODY CAGE I'M OK WITH IT FOR THE SAFETY
Advice: BUY IT THERE IS NO WAY TO BEAT THE DEAL AROUND $20K AND 10 YEAR WARRANTYHOW CAN YOU BEAT IT?!?!?!?! ONE OF THE BETTER SUV'S ON THE MARKET. A MID-SIZE SUV FOR AROUND $20K WITH A TEN YEAR WARRANTY. I HEARD SOME PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WARRANTY, BUT THEY EVEN TELL YOU IF YOU DON'T KEEP IT SERVICED YOU DON'T HAVE A WARRANTY THE SAME WITH ANY WARRANTY, NO SERVICE NO WARRANTY. I LOVE IT I'M GOING TO TRADE FOR THE 07 WITH THE 3.8 V-6
Pros: Room inside
Cons: Braking system
Advice: If your not willing to spend alot of money in the braking system this car is not for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I purchased this vechicle new a 2003 loved it until 8,000 miles later the brakes and rotors went out in it. Paid over $800 to get all fixed just to find myself back in the shop again shelling out another $500 and believe it was only 4,000 miles later. Again, experienceing this problem I took it back to have the dealer ship take a look and explain this was not acceptable, they fixed the problem without me having to pay just to give me warning that the next time it wasn't going to be free. This problem started soon after I bought my car in less than a year and 4 months the brakes and rotors have been replaced 4 times. Just as soon as I can trade without eating a great deal of cost the car is gone. Kia motors needs to step up and take responsiblity for the brakeing system and have a recall, I've have several close calls.
Pros: looks nic
Cons: engine blew up
Advice: Don't do itI actually bought the Kia Sorrento. Five months later, it seeemingly and spontaneously began smoking from the engine. No warning what so ever. So here I am stuck in the middle of no where on the highway. thank God for CHPs, what a lifesaver they were. Once at the dealership, thier mechanics gave several different reasons as to why this vechicle did what it did. So if you expect decent vechicle, honest customer service, dealer that stands by what they sell, and a this is NOT the one for you. By the way, this vechicle has a recall.....make sure you look it up.
Pros: Looks and style
Cons: Kia needs to improve gas milage
Advice: For the money and the ride you can't go wrong. The problems from the 2003 are no moreOnce I test drove this vehicle I was sold. I did however check my dealer out first but the sorento was a no brainer
Pros: heated leather seats and sunroof
Cons: smaller cargo area than some SUV's, but it makes up for it in passenger room.
Advice: Get one! Wait for manufacturer incentives, and it makes it even more worth it.The Sorento is VERY roomy and handles beautifully! It corners great and has a much better ride than other SUV's. As far as I could tell there are no blind spots and the back seat is alot roomier than competitive SUV's. I traded in my GMC Jimmy for one and could not be happier!
