    2003 Kia Sorento - LX 4x4

    Pros: Its' overall competence.

    Cons: City gas mileage.

Advice: Be sure that you can handle people thinking that you couldn't afford a 'good car'.

Overall, this is an excellent SUV. Comfort is only 4 stars as I would like more leg room. Had the GM radio changed out twice and a/c compressor once. Neither are Kia made parts, they are farmed out. City mpg is still about 12 but at 40k miles, the Hwy. mpg has improved to a recent tankful at 23.7 Power is fine and I pull a small trailer. Appearance? It's OK. I don't buy because of the shape of the paint.

    2003 Kia Sorento - EX 4x4

    Pros: Better visiblity

    Cons: The gas mileage

Advice: Check it out, it will surprise you.

I bought my Kia used with 25,000 miles and traded in a Nissan Altima 4 cylinder. I bought it primarily in my job I have to be able to get out in all weather and feel safe. I also like the higher seating so I feel I can see traffic and pedesterians better. My biggest disappointment is the much lower gas mileage. I wish it was better, but I could not beat the price and payments. I have had it only a month, but I feel I made a good choice.

    2003 Kia Sorento - EX 4x4

    Pros: sport shift

    Cons: a little too high-geared

Advice: Buy it, you'll love it! Get the EX with some extras. It's still $10K less than an Explorer.

My wife and I shopped and drove everything similar to the Sorento before buying it. None of the others come even close to the quality and value. I really wanted to buy 'domestic', but couldn't afford the extra $5K to $6K for a lesser vehicle. It's great looking too!

    2003 Kia Sorento - EX 4x2

Pros: looks, handling and feeling safe

Cons: gas mileage isn't the greatest for city driving

Advice: get your info together, do research, then drive it, you will be sold as we were

this is my 1st SUV and it won't be our last, this is a great vehicle!! you'd be surprised at what I've put this thing thru, remodeled our home and yard and hauled over 2300# of cement mix in this thing and it stayed level and still held the road as if we had nothing in it! The only thing which is disappointing is the gas milage, but if you can't afford the gas... don't buy ANY SUV. This truck looks great, drives great and handles great and parked it next to a Lexas 330 and there's not much difference except I would rather have 2 of this trucks for the price of a expensive Toyota and thats what you'd get too! and we've been on long trips to Tenn., Mass., Fla. and its been great, we've even put a air mattress in the back after we fold down the seats and pulled into a rest area and saved money on hotel rooms!!! ONE GREAT VEHICLE!! even considering the new sportage for my wife!

    2003 Kia Sorento - LX 4x2

Pros: Loads of features, quiet cabin, solid feeling, easy to drive/park.

Cons: V6 Engine lifter rattle - goes away after 10+ miles - dealer says, 'They all do it, nothing to worry about'. - yeah..right

Advice: Check out the dealer..are they brand new and handle only Kia, or they established and handle other brands?...might make a difference come warranty time.

Solid feeling, good bottom-end punch w/V6, trans reluctant to down-shift for passing. Is just the right size - drives and parks easily, can hold alotta various stuff or 4 full sized people in pretty good comfort. Gas mileage is disappointing for less than 200 HP,..we average about 15-16 in mixed driving with A/C running all the time. Sunroof leaks a little,..dealer says, 'They all do it, that's why the have a driprail on the inside.'...yeah, riiight.

    2003 Kia Sorento - EX 4x2

Pros: Value for the price, the way it looks and feels to drive, sunroof, leather, storage, size of vehicle

Cons: Suggestions: should have automatic door locks when start moving, mode button on left side of steering wheel should control the switching of CDs, not switch from CD to FM to AM, should have number pad on outside for entry without remote

Advice: Check out everything, do a spreadsheet of your criteria, then drive all the vehicles that meet your approval and you will be amazed at this SUV.

The test drive made the decision to buy this over the others I drove.

    2003 Kia Sorento - EX 4x2

    Pros: engine

    Cons: no third row seat

Advice: Great buy. It isn't the Kia that you think- it's a whole different class of car!

I have owned my Sorento EX (luxury pkg) for 7 months and put 19,000 miles on it. I have loved it every day! As much as I spend on the road, it was very important to have a vehicle that I would be dependable but also be fun to drive. The Sorento fits both. I chose the Sorento over a Honda Pilot and a Ford Explorer. I thought the Sorento drove better and was more comfortable than the others. Plus, it was about $10,000 less for the similar packages. No regrets so far.
