Pros: um...I didn't buy it
Advice: Pass this oneI rented this car for a few days. Wow am I glad I didn't buy it. It felt like it was about to fall apart at any second!
Pros: The price!
Cons: Under Powered....but I can live with it.
Advice: Make sure you drive it....and understand what it is your buying....its not a V8!I just bought my new Kia a week ago. I made the purchase because I wanted a SUV and they were the only people who would fincance me with no money down. Also I did not have a car, only a motorcycle....and its getting cold! Beggers cant be chooses. So with that in mind, I like the car so far. Yes its a little under powered and you have to slam the doors in order to get them to shut. The appereace of the vehicle is that of an egg. Its ugly. But it beats walking and its cheap!
Cons: the ride
Advice: It is only good for a 'first' new car. Never down grade to this. When I first Tested the car out before buying it, it drove nicely. I really liked the car and the way it 'scooted' around. It seemed like it was going to be a great car. Then after about 500 miles, the car started to drive poorly. It skips all over the road and the car vibrates when the brakes are applyed. It feels like I'm riding in a go-cart.
Pros: comfortable ride
Cons: need a few more horse power
Advice: Make sure if you want remote controlled mirrors you ask for Electrically controlled!I bought a 2001 GSX with cruise option. Quieter than I had expected. Performance improved once it was broken in. Heat comes on faster than any other vehicle I have ever owned, even on very cold days. AC Worked great. A little low to the ground when entering and exiting. Comfortable for 4 with no problem. I love the hatchback since it keeps me from storing junk there like I would in a regular trunk.
Cons: Quality, Ride
Advice: Buy ANY other brand. My friend, who doesn't read before she buys, bought the p.o.s. Sephia, thinking she was saving money and not giving up quality in the meantime. I told her to buy a civic like anyone else who wants reliability, but she had to be cheap. In 6000 kms, her transmission went TWICE. Sure, the car is covered under warranty, but she's been left roadside twice. I would recommend reading Consumer Reports, the only non-subsidized source of advice out there, and they will tell you the truth about KIA's awful quality and worse ride. I just sold a 1995 Accord with 210,000 kms and had NO problems with it, EVER. I bought a new 2002 civic three months ago. It's already shown its value beyond the KIA, and you can only imagine what resale and quality will be like in 4 years or so!
Pros: PRICE & LOOKS - Leather Seats.
Cons: No power sliding rear doors & or security system.
Advice: Forget the 'KIA' image - compare the features & the price!I was amazed! I had looked at the GM, Ford, Dodge and Honda Min-Vans – and for the price and standard options available I was sold. We bought ours for about $1000 less than MSRP – it came with the optional side body molding, leather bucket seats, Anti-lock Breaks and Home Link (fancy garage door opener) plus all the standard features – electric rear window (pop-out), fog lights, rear heater, rear A/C controls, rear window defroster, front window & side mirror deicer, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, overhead lights (7), clock/trip computer, STORAGE, & CUPHOLDERS (everywhere) and MORE. A similar Windstar with all the extras to match would be almost $8,000 more. The only major item it doesn’t have is power rear doors. The 3.5 liter engine with the 5 Speed Automatic provide plenty of power thru all speeds. The standard options are amazing – the rear heating work great (hasn’t been hot enough to really test the A/C). The sound system (AM/FM/Cass/CD – 6 Speaker) is equally to many luxury car system – far better than some of the other mini-vans I looked at. The ride is very smooth and quite, engine noise is extremely quite. The seats are all very comfortable, and there is plenty of leg room – the rear seat are a little difficult to get to with the optional bucket seat in the middle and the head room is a little close for adults, but the kids have no problem. I was told when I bought it that it was design to get a five star rating from the government, but that it had not been tested yet. Since then it has been tested and did receive the five star rating, so if safety is a concern this is the van for you – unfortunately the extra weight does reduce the gas mileage, we are getting around 18 during normally driving (better than the 15 they said). If you are looking for a min-van – make sure to check this one out!
Pros: engine and transmission
Cons: no fold away seats
Advice: If you are considering a minivan, you have to check this one out.If you could fold the back seat away like the honda odyssey, this would be the best van at any price, lexus like confort and ride, incredible for a vehicule this price,KIA you have done an excellent job.
