Advice: Change the oil regularly and enjoy the ride.
We had two prior Kia Optimas ( 2001 and 2004). We just bought two new ones loaded 6 months ago. The cars handles great on highway and in city driving. Electronic Stability control and ABS brakes is a vital plus. Power is more than adequate with the 4 Cyl. engine. Areodynamics on this car is outstanding on highway driving. You can pass a semi rig on the road with out the usual swaying and buffeting as you pass through the Rig's turbulent wind stream plus cross winds have little effect on the cars.
The ride is smooth not mushy yet still maintains a sporty feel on curvy roads. Handling is excellent in most conditions. Only draw back is the tires in the snow and wet conditions. They just don't seem to have great traction in those conditions although they offer good long wear.
Reliability is excellent on the service from the cars. Don't expect to visit the dealership much except for oil changes. The cars is just that reliable and well built plus you have an outstanding bumper to bumper ( 5 year/ 60,000 miles) warranty range just in case.
Our Gas mileage on the highway averages about 31 MPG at 75 MPH while traveling on long trips. In city driving is adequate at around 16 to 19 MPG in stop and go driving. Seating is very comfortable for long trips or just stop and go driving. No fatigue problems at all. Quite pleased with our purchases.
