Pros: spacious on the inside, comfortable driveGreat car...alot of space..very comfprtable for road trips
Pros: looks and performance
Cons: Location of place to rest arms while driving.Kia requires $500 service every 30,000 miles to keep warranty going.
Advice: Dont expect to drive with arm out window, it's too high. If you have long legs the steering wheel will be uncomfortably too far away.Mileage is less than I expected but Kia reccomends high octane gas and I buy the cheapest available. Better gas does get better mileage!!! Steering wheel should telescope out for long legged Americans. Extreeme pain in my thumbs was caused by resting my elbow on the door/window edge while driving.Rest elbow on arm rest and no more thumb pain due to pinching nerve in the elbow. Carpel tunnel symptms went away.
Pros: All the air bags
Cons: finding the color I want at the dealer
Advice: good luck If you find a 2006 on the floorThe wife and I Have been looking around for the pass few months to buy a new vehicle. We entered a Kia dealer one day looking at the 2006 Sorento. Across the showroom floor we spoted a 2005 Amanti and fell in love with it. The problem is the dealers seem to only have the 2005 models. We search around for a 2006 Amanti with the color we prefer but no one had it. It seem that all of the Kia dealer in this area only have white, black, & gray. One dearler states he has to order it from the factory. (No problem) We test drove one. It quality , comfort , and performance was excellent.
Pros: The comfortable seats
Cons: no GPS
Advice: it's an excellent buy!!NO GPS.........WHY???? The sound of the Alarm when it goes off SUCKS really bad!!!! it sounds like a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle, thats NOT impressive for such and impressive car as my Amanti. Other than that, it's the most awesome car I have ever owned, bar none.
Pros: hi-line leather interior and distinctive front end
Cons: lack of availability of a factory installed GPS navigation system
Advice: Take the car on an extensive test drive, and bring along your favorite CD to enjoy the sound system. You'll come back impressed!I purchase my 2004 Kia, new from a dealership, in November 2004, as a birthday present for my wife. She has owned the car for nearly a year, and still daily receives compliments on its styling and good looks. The Amanti now has 7000 miles on its odometer, and has been problem free. Whenever I sit in the car, I am constantly reminded of why i purhchased it for her. From its premium JBL sound system (with sub-woofer), to its near limousine like rear seat spaciousness and hi-line leather interior trim throughout, this is a car that looks like it costs thousand's more than its suggested retail price. On the road the Amanti delivers spirited performance when called upon, smoothly downshifting its 5 speed transmission automatic transmission, when urgency dictates this action. Fuel economy has consistenly averaged 17-18 MPG in the city, and 26 MPG on the highway (with air conditioning on). This level of real-world fuel economy outperforms some so-called economy cars. Overall, the Amanti's distinctive jaguar-like front end, and overall styling places it in a class by itself. My hat is off to KIA for bringing this car to the american market.
