Pros: Handling, sits up high, removable top
Cons: Brakes -- Poor gas mileage
Advice: Dont expect good gas milage!!!+Vehicle drove and handled well, Brakes werent the best, After purchase I noticed at 60 -65 mph. front end shimmy, I had a 2001 wrangler that I also bought new and it did the same thing. My 06 has 4,600 miles and front end shimmys when brakes are applied.
Advice: very basic but good and solidI have purchased this model and it is not for everyone. My wife and I are outdoor people and enjoy the pleasures you get in a Jeep. This one is my second and it is much better than my old jeep. The longer wheel base makes it ride better and the noise in not as bad. I am 6' 2' tall large build and I tell you I set just great in this wrangler. This is a basic old fashion form of transportation. Style is up dated but it is the greatest feeling to ride in this American tradition. If you are a person who likes the old ways of rugged out door life this is the best you can get. Gas is not as bad as my Dodge Ram Truck it used more gas than I could afford to pay. This one is truly not the best but many are costing more to drive than this 2006 wrangler. Over all I love this and it again makes me feel like an American. As a soldier I feel at home in this and so does my wife.
Cons: the gas needle doing the swan dive off the half tank mark (GAS MILIAGE)
Advice: you would not feel right with any other 4x4ok, if you want soft and plush, buy a H3. Jeep is always going to be a tried-n-true rough neck vehicle. my first vehicle was a 97 wrangler that over the last 9 years has seen hell and kept right on going. while off-roading, i rolled it twice. put it in a lake and had a small tree land on it. through the rust resistant metal, one new hood, and 9 sets of tires, she still runs great. i don't know of many vehicle besides maybe a semi that can run great with almost 400,000 miles. she may be retired to the farm, but i still drive her around. this new one, is identicle to the 97, why mess with a good thing
Pros: overall secure feeling of capability.
Cons: Storage space
Advice: buy a 2003 - 2006 the 2007 feels too soft and looks too feminineThere is no way to describe the outrageous feeling the Rubicon gives on a test drive. Pavement manners are far better than people say. Off road handling is far superior to any other 4x4 available today.I was sold the moment i sat in the Rubicon. After driving only 5 minutes i returned to the dealer and bought my first jeep.
Pros: The Look!
Advice: Get a 2006 before there are all gone!!!My 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, is 1 cool ride. I saw the 2007 Wranglers, NO WAY, way too much plastic... My 06 is 1 of the last real Jeeps.
Pros: Either the three piece freedom top or the my-gig infotainment system.
Cons: Cant say that I have a complaint.
Advice: Try to convince your sales rep to let you go four wheeling!Well, before I went on my demo drive with the nice salesman I was a little skeptical...four door wranglers, it just doesn't sound right! Needless to say four hours later I owned it. Since my purchase I have gone off roading several times, putting the jeep to a test comparable to a rubicon course. I have only had my jeep for four months but I have already put 7000 miles on...it's perfect!!! Go anywhere do anything...I can attest to that.
Pros: The Jeep look
Advice: Wait for the new 3.7L V6Okay, it looks like a Jeep. The ride is decent for a short wheelbase vehicle. The turning radius is great. All the functions work fine and the sound system is above average. The engine performance is marginal. I am sure it has lots of torque, but it feels strained every time I step on the gas. The mileage is very poor for a vehicle of it's size. I suspect I should have waited for the V6 2007 model.
