Pros: Safety features such as side airbag and backing sensor are all standard.
Cons: Limited rear visibilty when 3rd row seat is up.
Advice: Go fo the V8Solid handling, very quiet.
Pros: The interior, exterior, performance, and that Jeep feel
Cons: The price
Advice: Without question, buy it. You will have lots of fun driving it and the pride of saying, 'I am Jeeper'I have been a huge Jeep fan all my life. (Jeep Jamborees, etc.) When the Liberty came out, I was extremely disappointed...just a Jeep name with very poor performance. Then the loss of the Cherokee. AHHH, my Jeeps were no more!! Now the Commander, I am thrilled. Finally my Jeep is back. Jeep has completely redeemed itself. It is very fun to drive and has a rediculous amount of safety features. It does very well for a stock, mild, off-road, light truck. The interior is the best I have ever seen in any SUV in this class. Actually, I consider Jeep to be in a class of its own but not everyone else does. It eminates Jeep all over it which is why I bought one. Some people says it looks ugly. But to me that is like trying to say you would buy a Harley-Davidson if it is quite...oxymoron. For Jeepers who who felt saden with the loss of the Cherokee and then that imitation Jeep, the Liberty, you will love this Jeep. It has all that our classics did and a whole lot more. I really don't think anyone will be dissapointed at all. Style, power, performance, versatility, and that 'feel' when you are driving a Jeep.
Pros: The exterior and interior- So sporty and affordable, yet not cheap at all!
Cons: If you choose to use 3rd row seating, you completely loose all trunk space...
Advice: Make sure check all the options it comes with standard and go from there to add extras...doesn't need many extras so if you are looking to keep the price down don't go crazy with the extras...The T-Package has it all! Great Price! My Husband & I went to our local Jeep Dealer looking to purchase a Grand Cherokee 2005 because of all the great incentives and deals but when we got into the show room there was the Commander. Wow, what a different looking SUV! I absolutely fell in love with it. My Husband owns a Grand Cherokee Limited Jeep and I was thinking about getting a Laredo but after seeing the Commander my mind was made up, I fell in LOVE with it!!! We test drove it and compared to the Grand Cherokee, the Commander has almost the same ride, I would say a little bit more rugged but we loved it so we bought one that same day and I'm picking it up tomorrow afternoon. We are expecting our 1st child in a month and this vehicle will grow with us over the years...It has a great amount of room and 3rd row seating which is a great option. We bought the T Package that comes with everything one would need except leather and sunroof...But the cloth interior is very nice and sturdy (much nicer than the Grand Cherokee Cloth)...It is power everything, heated seats, 6 CD changer, satellite radio, memory pedals, garage programer, so much more...It is loaded!!! I think it is a great vehicle at such an afordable price...Resembles the new LR3 (Land Rover) and the new H3...I would completely recomend taking a look at this vehicle if you are looking for an SUV that is going to stand our, offers great features and is affordable...Oh yeah one more very important extra these vehicles come standard with- side curtain air bags!!! Very important and most vehicles you pay extra for them...Can't wait to get my Commander...
