    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5L (M5)

    Summary

    Pros: Come on

    Cons: No power memory seats

Advice: Check out the sport package. The performance is awesome

We bought the x-type with the sport package, and absolutely love it. It's quick, quiet, and so much fun to drive. It's roomy, yet feels like a little 2 seater from the drivers perspective, it's that sporty. It really is a dream car, at a great price, and we've had most of the luxury cars around including lexus and cadillacs to compare it to. All I can say is YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!

    Pros: Handling

    Cons: small trunk

Advice: Test drive it's competitors and you will buy a Jag.

After doing a comparison drive of an Audi, BMW 325xi and X-Type Jag, each an AWD vevhicle - I settled on the Jag. Now, after 2,000 miles I have no regrets. This car responds very well when I ask it to and comes better equiped than it's nearest competitors.

    Summary

Pros: THE BODY STYLE IS BEAUTIFUL

Cons: AUTOMATIC TRANS SHIFTS LIKE I'M DRIVING A MANUAL TRANS

Advice: A SPORTY LUXURY CAR VERY CONFORTABLE

I ALSO HAVE WINDSHIELD SPRAYERS LEAKING ON THE HOOD,AND THERE SEEMS TO BE A SLIGHT RIPPLE IN THE SIDES OF THE WINDSHIELD. I ONLY HAVE 500 MILES ON THE CAR,SO I HOPE THE AUTO-TRANS STARTS SHIFTING BETTER. THE SERVICE REP SAID THE CAR HAS TO BRAKE IN AND IT WILL GET BETTER. I HOPE FOR HIS SAKE IT DOES, BECAUSE I WILL BE IN HIS FACE EVERY WEEK...

    2002 Jaguar XJ8 - Sport

    Submitted on 1/21/2002 3:26:41 AM
    Summary

    Pros: wood interior, headlights

Cons: rear seats are too firm

    Advice: get an XJR :)

I used to own a 1989 XJ6...this car has completely shooke me! Jaguar is probably the best car on the planet in its class! only a Bentley could beat it! my Jaggy had 120 000 miles when i had to sell it, no serious problems whatsoever! the ride is super-comfortable, engine is quiet and powerful, sharp turns were no problems even at law-breaking speeds! so why buy a boring mercedes or bimmer, get a grown-up car, start respecting yourself!

    Summary

    Pros: Performance & handaling

    Cons: No in dash cd

    Advice: Buy,BUY,buy,BUY

My last car was a Z28 6 speed & I was concerned about the loss of performance going from 280 HP to 230 HP automatic. Little did I know. 'This car blows you away' It not only out accelerates the Z but the handling is like night & day. I would recommend this car to anyone i bought the car loaded, sports package, weather package, nav system ecc & its worth every $. As for the A4,3-series, & Mercedes, you have no choice - EAT MY DUST!!!

    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5L (M5)

    Summary

    Pros: Handling

Cons: Real (?) wood trim looks and feels like plastic

Advice: If you're concerned about Jag's rep for mechincal problems as I was (am), Lease it. All servicing comes with it along with a comprehesive AAA like roadside assistance pacage.

I've had my X-type for 3 months. equipped with 3L engine/auto, Luxury and Weather packages. It handles like a sports car with all the comforts and amenities of a luxury sedan. It's a joy to drive on back roads (every bit as fun as my old Triumph Spitfire used to be). However, it is equally good on the expressways. Plenty of power especially at the high end and at the low end too if you hit the 'S' button (neat for leaving tailgaters in the dust). Safety features especially the side impact & curtain air bags front and back give a sense of security. Anxious to try out the all wheel drive and traction control in the snow. This is my first Jag and it is everything I'd hoped it would be
