It has been close to fifty years since the last true Jaguar sports car, the E-Type, rolled off the production line. The E-Type was loved by many for its performance and especially its looks. Enzo Ferrari called the the E-Type "The most beautiful car ever made." Since the E-Type went out of production, many have been clamoring for a successor. Well Jaguar has finally introduced a successor to the E-Type: meet the 2014 F-Type.

The F-Type is very much a Jaguar in its exterior design - flowing curves, sculpted sides, and a tapered rear-end. You will not mistake the F-Type for anything else but a Jaguar. The same is true inside as leather and aluminum are used liberally.

The F-Type has the choice of three different powertrains. They are:

F-Type: 3.0L V6, 340 Horsepower and 332 Pound-Feet of Torque F-Type S: 3.0L Supercharged V6, 380 Horsepower and 339 Pound-Feet of Torque F-Type V8 S: 5.0L Supercharged V8, 495 Horsepower and 460 Pound-Feet of Torque

All engines use an eight-speed automatic transmission to get the power to the rear-wheels.

Performance figures for the F-Type are very impressive:

F-Type: 0 - 60 MPH: 5.1 Seconds, Top Speed: 161 MPH F-Type S: 0 - 60 MPH: 4.8 Seconds, Top Speed: 171 MPH F-Type V8 S: 0 - 60 MPH: 4.2 Seconds, Top Speed: 186 MPH

Fuel Economy for the 2014 Jaguar F-Type stands at:

F-Type: 20 City/28 Highway/23 Combined F-Type S: 19 City/27 Highway/22 Combined F-Type V8 S: 16 City/23 Highway/18 Combined

Pricing for the 2014 F-Type starts at $69,000 for the standard model and climbs all the way to $92,000 for the V8 S. Competitors to the F-Type include the Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari California, and Porsche 911.
