Pros: Torque on demend
Advice: shop around little moreThe car handles realy bad. In regular mode, this car acts like a boat floating on the water. Specially bad on corners. Over the bumps this car imposible to control, it jumps off road, seems like. The only way get a half decent ride is to engage the sport mode at all times. And then it seems like driving real truck.
Pros: Torque on Demand
Cons: The placement of the CD changer
Advice: If you are shopping for a SUV of any make take a GOOD look at the AxiomI was very surprised with the handling and ride. This SUV rides like a car and handles every bump in the road. When driving on the curviest of roads it takes the curves and I do not feel any of the SUV roll. The low step in high is wonderful, my wife and kids have no trouble getting in and out.
Pros: External and Internal Appearance
Cons: The suspension with passengers or cargo
Advice: Think this one through.Be sure to test drive this vhicle in driving conditions similar to your normal pattern. Any extra weight in the rear, such as passengers will give you a less tha acceptable ride. There are two suspension modes, 'spot' and 'normal'. Sport is very Rigid. Normal is very 'Bouncy'
Pros: Slick Looks
Cons: Car Sickness inducing comfort mode
Advice: Definitely don't pay sticker price- look for an '02I found a brand new 2002 Axiom for 20K after rebates. XS model minus the moonroof (?). After some haggling and the trade-in of my $700 car I picked it up for 18K. I love this thing. Best looking truck out there. Quick and fun to drive. Tons of other nice features and great warranty make this the best value I've seen. Only thing I don't like is the Comfort Mode is too bouncy and actually made me car sick. Luckily the Sport Mode is just fine. Also, count how many Grand Cherokees and Explorers you see on the next trip you take. It is nice to have something a little different.
Pros: Easy access to switch to AW
Cons: A bit sluggish transmission
Advice: Go to an Isuzu dealer and not a twinI have about 4,000 miles on the Ascender LS and find it to be a delightful ride. Having just gotten past the blizzard of 2003 in Colorado it is also an excellent vehicle in the snow, deep snow. The I6 engine is powerful and smooth. The transmission could be better but it is adequate. The in dash 6-CD player is wonderful and the overall sound system quite nice. The interior is pleasant and very roomy! The warranty is very nice and much better than it's twins. I also saved quite a bit more by going to Isuzu rather than one of the twins. All in all, a great vehicle!
Pros: Styling, interior, warranty
Cons: Front leg room
Advice: Buy itExcellent drive, awg. 19.7 mpg. Very quiet, powerfull engine and smooth transmission.
Pros: Comfort and Sport suspension settings
Cons: Less than refined power window mechanism
Advice: Great price and top notch quality inside and outFor a mere $25,000 the Isuzu is the best bargain for a modern day SUV. There are many SUV's in the same price range but cannot beat Isuzu's power and space. This is a roomy SUV that does not require you to climb ladders to get in. The superior interior quality and fit & finish is surprising for vehicle at this price range. The standard model includes CD changer, AC and power windows and mirrors. The adjustable suspension is another great feature that allows driver to adjust firmness of the suspension to their liking. With 230 horse powers, the engine propel this SUV in less than 8 seconds from 0 to 60. This is also a SUV that can reach 100mph - 120 mph safely and with ease. This is also the coolest looking SUV on the market. If you like a quite SUV with many standard features, this is the one for you.
