2000 Isuzu Trooper - LS (A4) 4x4

This vehicle mechanically is made poorly. Many problems and issues which I encounter through out the last 12 years. The only reason I still have this vehicle , because I can use it some times when there is a heavy snow storm in my area, other wise, it is parked in my drive way all the times.

2008 Isuzu i-290 - Base

Pros: It would be a toss up between anti-lock brakes and auto-headlights

Cons: Nothing

Advice: This is a good truck for the money, and better warranty than Chevy/GMC

I have had my truck 3 months now and have to say that it has been all that I ask of a basic truck. I wanted a truck that could be used for every day work..no cloth seat or carpet. I have the 5 speed manual and it has no trouble with my utility trailer or my bass boat. It handles well and the engine works fine. The mileage is more than was stated. I am very pleased with the overall package.Has many features that are not offered on other makes.

Pros: the comfort and feel of the car

Cons: All the repairs.

Advice: Stay away or at least be careful.

I bought my '02 rodeo used. I had to redo the transmission at 60,000 miles (right after the warranty expired). I had to replace the entire A/C system. I have put 3 water pumps in the vehicle, and I have a coolant leak that can't be located. Oh and now the car chooses when it will let me disengage it from park into drive/reverse. Put more money into the car than it is worth. Love the feel/drive of the car, but parts are hard to find and cost a bundle. I will never buy another Isuzu.

2004 Isuzu Ascender - 4x4

Pros: the engine runs strong...so far

Cons: the drop in quality of the izuzu product

Advice: stay away....stay far away

After about 6 months the front end began to rattle.Now after 1yr and 9 months it sounds like the front axles or some part of the suspention is going to fall out,and the front tires have began to bounce like two huge rabbits under my fenders anytime i go over a sharp bump.The transmission has developed a whinny sound you can hear in the last row of this 7 passenger disaster.(you know the sound,like a childs electric car that they ride in?)Well it's been 3 trips to the dealers repair shop #4 this monday. Too bad Izuzu sold it's sense quality breaking into the upper end suv's. I have owned izuzu before ..never again.

Pros: Shift on the Fly 4WD

Cons: Cost of the 30,000 mile scheduled maintance service, WOW!!!

Advice: Find the most RELIABLE and REPUTABLE Dealership possible.

I have had my Rodeo Sport for three years now and it has been a great vehicle. I've put over 56,000 miles on it so far and have had very little trouble with the vehicle. Had to replace a leaking axle seal at about 39,000 but that was done under warranty. I have to agree with most reviews, Isuzu dealerships in general suck! I had to take my Rodeo Sport to the dealer 3 times before they would admit I needed the warranty repair. Now, there is NO DEALER within 60 miles of my residence, not convenient at all.

2002 Isuzu Axiom - Base 4x2

Pros: TOD

Cons: GoodYear tires (Get rid of them quick)

Advice: Try to get the dealer to fork over better tires.

Keep it in 'sport' mode. 'Comfort' seems to be for those lazy empty highway drives. The GoodYear Integrity tires are not matched properly to this vehicle. They squeal at low cornering speeds and at acceleration. Replace them as soon as possible.
