    2003 Infiniti FX35 - 4x2

Pros: The engine considering it is a SUV

    Cons: Rear view visibility

Advice: If you want a sports car with SUV sensibilities, run out and get this one

Oh my!!!! This vehicle is all that and a bag of chips. It appeals to the 'man' side in me with the performance factor and appeals to the 'family' side in me with the SUV factor. The drive is exhilirating (I'm coming from a Ford Explorer 6 cylinder). I stuck with the 18 inch wheels based on everyone's advise and I think it was a good choice. This is not a mini van so of course it's not going to be as comfortable as the Lexus 300 which is based on that type of platform. But for putting a sports car with a SUV together, Infinity did a fantastic job. I did take one star off for comfort because the rear view is limited so it takes some more cautious driving techniques. Cargo space is great for this type of vehicle. I have a wife and 2 kids and cargo space was fine for me. I was able to get both car seats and a double stroller in the back. I still have room for shopping stuff and we can take one person along. Overall, a fantastic car!!!!

    2003 Infiniti FX35 - AWD

    Pros: Powerful engine

    Cons: Ride and claustrophopic feel

Advice: Don't buy based on looks

I've tested all the new SUVs and the FX35 was my greatest disappointment. The ride is brutal! The rear view barely exists! You've got to climb, twist & turn to get into the rear seats and they appear to be in the trunk! The driver seat is not only uncomfortable but claustrophobic with the very high window line! And there's hardly any usable cargo space with rear seats up! Without question, the FX is a disfunctional design and I wondered what the engineers were smoking. Nissan's Murano has a better functional design and comparative performance for far less money. Check it out along with the Lexus RX330!

    2003 Infiniti FX35 - 4x2

    Pros: Handling/performance

Cons: Plastic inside door handles - should be Aluminum like the pedals

Advice: Drive the others first before you drive an FX

Mine is a 2004 model with the sport and technology package. Ride has been softened for 2004 plus the DVD player has been removed from the Tech package and made a separate option. Handling is more sports car than any other SUV. Tried a G35 sedan but it was too tight of a fit. Although FX35 is much heavier than the G35 sedan, the driving feel is of a vehicle much smaller. Maybe can't haul as much as some other SUV in it's class but the others will not drive like this one.

    2003 Infiniti FX35 - 4x2

    Pros: power and handling

Cons: rearwindow is hard to see and the windshield wiper knob get in the way sometimes

Advice: power and handling is great though you have to sacrifice ride comfortability

Love the vehicle during the test drive and ended up buying the V6 version with the 18in rims. It was also a great deal that was offered and ended up buying it right on the spot. The power and handling was AWESOME...couldn't believe a SUV can handle like this. The biggest drawback though was the ride....though I got the 18in wheels it was still brutal at times. Another drawback is windshield wiper knob which is located too close to the steering wheel....constantly knocking it. Overall, a great vehicle and constantly getting asked and head turns looking at my FX.

    2003 Infiniti FX45 - Base

Pros: Technology Package - locks, camera, cruise, gps

    Cons: Styling

Advice: Make sure you don't need more room from your SUV...your loss if you do

Man, what a load of fun. Great technology use and really functional gadgets. Lots of looks as we drive by. Excellent design and usability quotient. Tying to wrestle it away from my wife now.

    2003 Infiniti FX35 - AWD

    Pros: Overall performance

    Cons: Infiniti leasing

Advice: Hold out for the best deal

A great looking vehicle...I drove both 18 inch wheel version and the 20 inch wheel sport version. The 18 inch wheels and the softer suspension were definitely better. The sport version was very twitchy and bouncy on rough roads, giving it a 'trucky' feeling--not what you want in a sport SUV. From a performance perspective, the car is great. Quick acceleration and sure handling are hallmarks. Interior is comfortable, but rear vision is limited. Infiniti lease rates are quite high, making the value proposition unattractive relative to the competition. All in all, a nice vehicle if you don't mind paying extra.

    2002 Infiniti QX4 - 4x4

Pros: Ride quality and vehicle pick up

Cons: Gas Mileage / requires premium fuel

    Advice: Highly recommended...

I purchased this SUV as an upgrade to my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder...What an amazing difference between the 3.3 liter engine (170 HP) V. the 3.5 liter (240)! Excellent build quality, quiet ride, automatic 4 wheel drive works great and the Xenon headlights are awesome.
