Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
At 242,000 miles, this is by far the most reliable car i have ever owned. i have never been inside the engine, its perfect mechanically. has a little almost unnoticeable "valvy" noise when you first start it, but quiets up when warm, its very comfortable seats have accommodated me on trips from here in Miami to Orlando and Los Angeles (twice). Standard wear items like brakes, batteries, tires, etc. replaced at normal wear times, had a problem warping rotors until i went aftermarket.
Cons: 5-speed transmission vs. 6 or 7 speed in others
Advice: Try it - you'll love it.Extremely quiet and responsive. Premium Package adds some great features like laser guided cruise control, reclining rear seats & rear seat climate and sound system control. Best car in its class for quality, value and performance.
Pros: Motor performance
Cons: Electical system
Advice: Don't buytFor a luxury auto , this car is a disappontment . The sensor light on the wheel for showing 'flat ' comes on and the dealer has never been able to fix it. In addtion shortly after the 60,000 mile guarantee was up , the sturts on the trunk wore out, the ignition switch was faulty and now it needs a new starter . Further the motor for the window on the drivers side is faulty and needs repalcement . Worse , when you take the car in for repairs many of the parts are on 'back order.' After this expierience , I question the quality of any Infiniti product.
Pros: Computer prevents the car from pitching forward during hard braking.
Cons: Fit could be better - occasional vibrating noise from front passenger seat area.
Advice: I drove a 2004 Lexus LS 430 and did not buy the car because it looks frompy and there are so many on the road. It performed well but did not excite me. Try the Infinity Q45 before you by a bimmer, caddy, Lexus, or BMW. You won't be disappointed.Firmly planted on the road yet never a harsh drive. The car accelerates so smoothly you don't realize that you are at 70 in a few seconds. The engine is extremely quiet and wind noise is less than a Lexus according to some reviews. You are surrounded by American/Japanese-like luxury with the handling of a high end german car with Italian-like styling that does not draw attention to the owner like other high-end cars. It's in a class by itself.
Pros: Sound System
Cons: Constant Maintenance
Advice: Careful look at the M452005 Q45 less than 30,000 miles.. so far 2 GPS's, Front wheel bearings, rough idle, roars at 60 mph then goes away, NOW engine replacement since it is burning oil under 1000 miles....
Pros: my rear passages can relax and not be seen thanks to the rear sun shades
Cons: low resale valve
Advice: great car u will love it just take the test drive u will love it toi love this car it out performs any car in its class good handle good feel i wouldnt trade it for any thing but a 2007 or newer q45 i hope for 2007 they change it and put more horsepower i would buy these car for as long as they make them good job infiniti look forward to the 2007 model
Pros: the Bose sound system/Nav system ...sorry two there
Advice: Get one Now! what are you waiting for!Detailed review: did not expect to buy this car! It is a pleasure to test drive and then drive home. Friend ask 'what do you drive?' ana all I have t say is a Q45 Baby! I use to drive a Cadillac but wil never drive one again! Also considered: 2001 Lexus LS 430 (my dad bought one and now wants my Q!) 2002 BMW 7 Series Vehicle purchased: 2002 Infiniti Q45-Fully loaded
