    2006 Hyundai Tiburon - GS (M5)

Pros: Good Looks - High End performance

    Cons: Hard to get into

Advice: Get the V6 if you want more low end torque, Get Manual Transmission

I have the 2.0 Liter 4 cyl. I like the value of this car. You get a lot of standard features for the money. This is not a torque car, you have to rev it to about 2000 RPM to get of the line well in first gear. However, this is the first car I have owned that went 120+ MPH. For a 4 cyl, that is excellent !! The power band seems to be between 3000 and 4500 rpm (60-85 MPH). Once in 5th gear it will climb to 80 quickly and not want to slow down. The handling is very quick, corners rated at 40 can be taken at 65 - 70 MPH. I would say this is an entry level sports car for the casual driver.... enjoy...

    2003 Hyundai Tiburon - GT V6 (M5)

    Pros: 6 speed transmission

    Cons: bad in the snow

Advice: Get the V6 version. This car is too heavy for the lower 4-banger.

I bought my 2003 Tibby GT brand new and drove it off the lot. I have never had a problem with the car. I just hit a little over 35000 miles and have had regular maintenance on my car. I did have a minor steering column problem, but it just a noise issue that was covered under the warranty. I did put new tires on the car, which gave it a less responsive but more comfortable ride. I recommend this car to anyone. For the price/looks/gas/piece of mind you receive from this automobile, it is a sure thing. I'm driving this one into the ground and smiling every time I make a payment.

    2005 Hyundai Tiburon - SE (M6)

Pros: 6 speed transmission / beautiful Orange Crush color / excellent warranty

Cons: Less back seat space than I would have liked

Advice: Don't overlook this car. Many standard features that competitors charge extra for.

Impressive driving performance, excellent standard features including sun roof, upgraded stereo, leather interior. The SE model offers the high body fin that makes it stand out from the GT models.

    2006 Hyundai Tiburon - GT (M5)

Pros: Good price with excellent warranty

    Cons: Color choices

Advice: If you're looking for fun and a good price, this it it - but this is not a performance car

GT has a firm ride with good power. Smooth yet firm ride with very little road noise. Solid doors and good sound package. Tach and speedometer are small but well placed. Interior lighting, gauges and headlights good at night. Low headroom even for an average height male. Climbing in an out of the passenger door is tricky due to the low ceiling. Engine compartment is full with easy access to the battery. Trunk is adequate but has a small spare tire. Shifting is smooth between gears but getting out of 1st requires you to rev the engine. 5th is a slight stretch and you don't know if you're going into 5th or 3rd. Visibility out the front, side windows and rear is good with the usual blind spots. Side view mirros are small but well placed. Paint colors are dull and you can only get the orange in the SE. The car is excellent if you want some power and handling but aren't looking for a sports car performance. The price and warranty are also excellent. Drive it at night to appreciate all of the car.

    2003 Hyundai Tiburon - GT V6 (M5)

    Pros: Overall body style

    Cons: Clutch Problem

Advice: The clutch problem seems to be fixed in the 2004-2006 models.

I bought this car with lots of promise of being the first owner and knowing what the history of the car was. When the clutch went out after 20,000 miles, Hyundai blamed me. I have owned 5 other cars and none of the clutches went out on me. I know how to drive stick. I later found that it is a very consistant problem with the '03. I also found out that Hyundai knowingly sold me this car with a clutch problem that they realized and fixed on the newer models. Be cautious!
