I love this car!!
Pros: Comfortable ride and reliability.
Cons: After seven years the paint on the outside door handles peeled. This is my third Sonata and I love each one more than the last. My next car will be a Sonata, nothing else will do.
Cons: It takes dings very easilyI bought my Sonata used but with very low mileage. I've put over 30,000 miles on it and it runs fine and has been very low maintenance.
Pros: The comfortable ride and the abundance of power.
Cons: I am happy to say that I do not dislike anything about this car.
Advice: Do not think you must spend 40 or 50 thousand dollars in order to get a very good to excellent automobile.I have driven my Hyundai Sonata LX V6 from March 2004 to present, have kept up with all scheduled maintenance, and have 44000 miles on it with only a windshield washer hose repair needed. It handles perfectly and has been a pleasure to own and drive.I get from 28 to 30 miles per gallon (MPG) of fuel on long trips (depending on how I drive) and average 24 to 26 MPG with stop and start driving. As much as I have thought about the purchase of a newer vehicle, I just can't make myself get rid of this one. I plan to drive it at least another 5 years.
Pros: The look of it is just beautiful. and the warrenty
Cons: everything that has gone wrong
Advice: Do not buy a hyundia sonata well a 2004 at least. I don't know a bout the new ones i will never own a foreign car again!!!I own a 2004 sonata and i bought it with only 16,000 miles on it. IT was previously a programm car. We started having problems with it at 30,000miles. The trans was replaced at 33,000 miles and just after that the struts started to go bad. there is a clunk in the drivers side wheel, a/c blows cold when wants to, it over heats then when giving gas its goes back down. the motor is ticking. And it has no power whats so ever. ITs a very bad car. i have only owned it for a year!!
Pros: Stock Stereo, not bad
Cons: multiple problems, noises...fan belts, still have when it rainsl. lights keep blowing
Advice: buy a higher quality make, like a buick, they have similar sized cars great price too. or Lincoln Town car.I purchased my 04 in Nov 04, its july 06 now, and since then I've replaced bothe headlighs a total of 5 times and one is out again. The brake lights 3 times total. First time today for the fog lights however. And the paper pin stripes are turning black from grey, yes I wash my car often. The wheel wells are total rusty, I don't even see that on an old jallopy. And a noise from the rights side engine that the Hyundai techs never seem to find. One of my belt pulleys was bent, but they did replace that because it was squeeling nonstop. Help, I'm drowning w/frustration.
Cons: Door handle chrome has some chipping
Advice: Buy a performance air filterI'm a 20 year old college student. I've had the car for almost 2½ years and I couldn't be happier.. I especially love the shiftronic transmission- it's great for getting around those tight corners and avoiding some of the 'body lean' that others seem to complain about with the Sonata. I'm definately glad I went with the V6, and after adding a cold air intake I can go 0-60 in less than 8 seconds, which is great. I love the little extras like heated power mirrors, pressurized auto-open hood (so you don't need the bar to hold it up), the ultra-bright headlights, the shiftronic transmission, the 4 power outlets, the illuminated door lights.. I could go on for ever. Highly recommend!
Pros: Ultra Smooth at highway speeds
Cons: Blind spot is tricky
Advice: Put it at the top of your test drive listI purchased own a 2004 Hyundai Sonata LX 6 cylinder model in October of 2004, and am celebrating my first anniversary with it.... 12,000 miles later it's just like the day I bought it. I was a die hard Honda/Toyota fan, but the high price demands of these brands made it necessary for me to consider other imports. Based on reviews at the time and the experiences of friends who own Santa Fe'and Elantras i went to my local Hyunai dealer and paid under $18,000.00 for a car full of features, comfort, and a great warranty. There are only a couple of things I do not like 1 The suspension feels hard on sudden bumps in the road. 2 The auto transmission is occasionaly sluggish in switching gears. ( then again, every car has its traits). It is definitely alot of car for the money...and pretty damn good mileage for a 6. I will remain a loyal Hyundai customer as long as they keep putting out great cars for the money.
