After launching the original to much fanfare as the North American Car of the Year for 2009, the redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan is carrying on its reputation for style, value and performance—and its ability to score industry hardware, too. The latest evidence comes by way of Texas and Georgia, with the action kicking off in the Lonestar state.

There, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) selected the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan as both the "Mid-size Luxury Car of Texas" and the overall "Car of Texas" during this year's Texas Auto Roundup. TAWA also has started expanding its recognition program beyond its usual "Vehicle of Texas" awards, but with the same Genesis-friendly results: The 2015 model was honored for this year's "Best New Interior," too.

Said Michael Marrs, president of the latter group: “TAWA members were easily impressed by the 2015 Hyundai Genesis, enough to name it the top honor Car of Texas. Luxury is important to Texans but so is value. The Genesis hits all the right buttons as it is more luxurious and dynamic than before all while still holding on to the namesake’s incredible value.”

In the Peach Tree state, after in-depth analysis of 19 of the industry's most family-friendly vehicles, the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) then named the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan its "Top Family Choice" of the year.

GAAMA lauded the new Genesis for its stylish design, an expansive yet comfortable cabin, plenty of cutting-edge technologies and overall value, with Nick Palermo, the association's president, specifically noting that: "A sport sedan like the 2015 Hyundai Genesis is attractive to drivers who want a family car but don't want to sacrifice on style and performance. The Genesis earned its place as 2014 Top Family Choice by exceeding expectations. Although the previous-generation Genesis sedan is an impressive car, this new model again raises the bar for both Hyundai and its competitors. Families looking for accessible luxury should add the 2015 Genesis to their short lists."

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan is at local dealerships now, with a price of admission that begins at $38,000.
