Pros: Standard shift
Cons: Could use a few more ponies under the hood
Advice: buy from no haggle pricing dealer shipI bought my 2004 gt almost 1yr ago, now have 27000 trouble free miles under its belt. I drive it over 100 miles round trip a day to and from work, average speed of 75-80 mph, gets 31 miles per gallon, great sound system, mp3, much more product for the dollar verses anything the Japanese can muster in this class. Paid less than 11000 for this car, by far the best deal I have ever made. Oh yes, I live in New Hampshire, this car is also great in the snow.
Pros: The stereo system
Advice: noneI love my Elantra GT I am self employed and drive costantly, and as a small business owner and growing, I find this car economical with gas and spacious enough to double up like a SUV without the gas consumption. I fill up 1-2 times a week and drive about 150-200 miles weekly!!
Pros: Adjustable seats
Cons: wipers- was told that the wipers inadequately clearing rain is not a problem but is how they work
Advice: Past owner of Civic and Corollas. Elantra is a great car but bad gas mileage. This may be my first trade in because of the mileage. I usually drive a car for decades.Comfortable ride; controls easy to use.
Pros: seating comfort
Cons: wheel covers are plastic
Advice: No better deal for the price and warranty, also my dealer came down a lot on price, so negotiate!I looked at the big picture when purchasing my 2005 Elantra. I test drove every car under $25K and found this car to be the best value. I only initailly test drove it to eliminate it from options, but I fell in love with the smooth ride. It is an automatic, peppy car with enough get up and go to merge into Chicago traffic. The styling is sleek and gas mileage is good (30mpg in city). It is a great car for the small price. Highly Recommend!
Pros: Value: most features and best warranty for the price
Cons: FM radio can't handle weak stations as wells as Honda or Toyota
Advice: Take the GT Hatchback w/all features; you'll get a great car for the price if you shop wiselyBought the GT Hatchback w/at,abs,traction control, moonroof in March 2005. Excellant car for the price. New, it cost $7,000 less than a Toyota Camry purchased in December '92. Great car for commuting and driving around town. Excellant fit and finish. After 6,000 miles, we have only changed the oil. We haven't needed on adjustment and it had only one minor new car defect. Air conditioning works great in the Phoenix heat. Handles reasonably well. Hatchback is a bonus; Americans should consider this option. The GT looks a lot like the Saab hatchback. Can't beat it for the price.
Pros: I love the whole car but if i had to pick one it would have to be the comfort.
Cons: I want fog lights but im not sure i can get them
Advice: Great! Great! Great! all around car! good on gas, good drive, good comfortWhen i test drove this car i knew right off i would be leaving the dealership that day with it. This is a very sleek and stylish car. I had the accent prior to this one and this car is like driving any other higher grade car. (two thumbs up korea!!!!!)
Pros: Body style,and the price
Advice: Best car on the marketI took a test drive on the 2005 Elantra and i love the drive and the handling of compact car.
