    2004 Hyundai Elantra - GLS (M5) Sedan

my elantra is a well built car, gives good gas milage, and handles great.it is noisier than my sonata, but I am very satisfied with it performance and dollar to-content value. I have had (2) 1999 elantras in the pass this one is the best.

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - GLS (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Fuel Economy

    Cons: No CD Player

Advice: Watch out for loss of value after you buy. These cars don't hold their value as well as they say.

I liked the way it handled and the pick up it gave me. The engine seemed to give me all the power I asked for. I did notice that the shifts when pushed to shift were hard and labored. The interior looks good and has a nice feel. The trunk space is great. Too bad they don't come standard with CD players.

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Hatchback

Pros: Kenwood system, moon-roof, leather trimmed everything.

Cons: occasional mysterious front end squeeking???

Advice: Upgrade the tires after purchase.

I had a Hyundai Accent prior to buying the Elantra GT. I never had any issues with my accent do when i came time to buy a new car, Hyundai was my first choice. I thought I might get a new Accent, but when I got to the dealer I could not resist test driving an Elantra GT. Well. what can I say? I was sold. The stereo (Kenwood package), moon-roof, leather seating and trim, alloy wheels, stylish european looks and great engine are amoung the reasons why I enjoy this car so much. The purple illumination is a cool feature as well. The space in back can't be beat. I would reccomend this car highly. You will not find a car with these specs at a better price!

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Hatchback

Pros: MP3/CD player & fold down [flat] rear seats

Cons: paint seems to scratch easily (especially when highway driving and little pebbles hit car)

Advice: definitely a more cost-effective and very competitive alternative to Honda, Toyota

Great car; more space than any comparable models I test drove (including Honda, Ford, etc). I love the 138-HP engine and the euro-H/B look. I live near DC and it is a great city car, especially when you are trying to dart around all of the 10 mpg huge SUVs that, for some reason, people insist on driving in a city... Plus, i got my GT for 12,400$ (w/ tax and fees) - can't beat that; the comparable Honda I was looking at was almost 17,000$

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Hatchback

    Pros: Most

Cons: Wish seats were a bit wider (but I'm a big guy).

    Advice: Do your research.

The car (GT hatchback with ABS) drives and handles great. Had it for a year now (18,000 miles) and get 32.2 mpg in mixed driving. I appreciate the ABS and traction control -- both work really well. The leather seats are comfortable and nothing has gone wrong. I love the CD/MP3 player and the purple gauges. A great mix of comfort, economy, and performance w/o the pretensions. Oh, did I mention the warranty?

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - GT (M5) Sedan

Pros: Radio and purple instrument cluster

Cons: Poor stopping ability. Car fishtails when you have to panic stop.

    Advice: Get ABS

Test drove the GT sedab and loved it so I bought it. Immediately upon driving it away I had a sunroof rattle, really loud. It took 5 different dealer trips and it was finally ripped apart and put back together. It's not rattling anymore. Now the sunroof crackles when it's hot out. When I go over bumps the roof is flexing somewhere and making noise. In addition, there is an annoying ticking noise coming out of the driver door area. Dealership replaced the entire inner door panel. Problem is still there. No one knows what problem is. My brother and I took door panel off and stuffed some pillow batting inside. Still ticking. Anyone have any ideas about roof noise in hot sun and door panel rattle?

    2004 Hyundai Elantra - GLS (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Moonroof and cruise control.

    Cons: Location of cupholders.

Advice: Shop around and do your homework. I paid a bit more than I could have, but it was a bargain regardless.

This car drives like a dream. It has all the pickup of a larger model car and more than enough immentities to satisfy the snobbish customer. Take a test drive and find out for yourself. You'll be amazed of how much luxury you can purchase at such a low price.
