    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Hatchback

Pros: Build quality, features, value, warranty.

Cons: Around town mileage, soft brakes.

Advice: Buy without fear. This is a great car.

This car surprised me. My wife really wanted it. I wanted to buy her a Civic. But the warranty convinced us. Now, we have 17K on it, and there have been no problems, no sqeaks, no rattles. Everything about the car is great. We carried 4 adults, plus luggage, in our Elantra in perfect comfort, and averaged 34mpg. Our friends couldn't believe the space. At first, they wondered why we weren't taking our SUV instead. The leather is nice, as is the trip computer and moonroof. All for $15700. And the warranty is unmatched. I know Toyotas are built as well. But why don't they offer this kind of peace of mind? Why doesn't anyone else (other than Kia, owned by Hyundai). I would appreciate firmer brakes, and better city mileage. The car does well on the freeway, but around town, on short trips, the Hyundai is not as efficient as the Civic or Corolla. The best part of this car, is that it's a wannabe Saab. This is high praise, considering it's half the price of a 9-3. From the rear, the car looks like a Saab. And so does the instrument panel. Pretty cool. It's even as large, or larger than the 9-3.

    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Sedan

Pros: looks, even the hatchback looks good... also the power for the size was a warm suprise

    Cons: no complaints at all

Advice: When you buy one, get it with everything you want, because it will still be less than most, if not all comprable cars with the same options, that way you'll like it that much more!

I absolutely loved my elantra! too bad i got rearended by a box truck in it... it was totaled, but i'm definatly going to buy a new one, without thinking about anyting else. the car was great, reliable, and faster than most other similar size cars on the road. i remember leaving my share of civics and such behind me at red lights with my trusty five speed. excellent milage, exellent warranty, execellent performance, excellent price. need i say more?

    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Autolock and keyless entry

Cons: The passenger side seatbelt rattles if not fastened.

Advice: Great gas mileage, great warranty, great car-buy it!

I did a ton of research before buying the Hyundai Elantra, 2002 Sedan. I wanted good gas mileage, style, affordability and the perks, such as keyless entry, CD player, Sunroof, power windows, power locks and that great 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty. I considered other cars but always came back to the Elantra. My disappointments are mininal: the seats could be more comfortable. Even with the lumbar support, they're still not as comfy as my old van. The passenger side seatbelt rattles if not fastened and the trunk is a bit small and tinny sounding when you close it. Overall it's a great car for the money, even my hard to please husband said it was a 'nice little car,' and my friends, co-workers have also favorably commented on it.

    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Hatchback

    Pros: Steering & Suspension

    Cons: initial pickup

Advice: Load your family in and take a drive

I love this car (GT Model). I forgot how much fun it is to drive. At 6'1' it's comfortable, for my 6'4' husband it's uncomfortable to drive but fine in the passengers seat. I feel safe in this car with it's 4 airbags. Love the shoulder belt in all 3 seating positions in the back. The hatchback has allowed me to carry items I normally would have reserved for a truck. The leather seats are standard and I opted for the power moonroof and automatic, it's a great value. Can't say it enough... love this car.

    2002 Hyundai Elantra - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: The Sonata GLS appearance

    Cons: can't find anything I don't like

Advice: test drive it, then ask the price--you will buy one!

Research, research, then buy this car! Our budget was limited, but after reviewing this car, & test driving it--we found there was no better value on the market! We have a Pearl White Sonata GLS, & we watch as heads turn wherever we drive our car. It performs as well as it looks, & we think the warranty is excellent! It surpasses in quality, the price we paid for it.
