Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Advice: BUY IT!Fun to drive, a real SUV.
Pros: Can't just pick a feature. This vehicle has many great features.
Cons: The only problem I have is, it needs a back up sensor or camera. BADLY! A friend of ours, who also is a Hummer 3 owner, already drove OVER a Wal-Mart buggy. Crushed it. No damage to the Hummer. :)
Advice: There are a lot of reviews out there to find out what people think, but to really find out about this vehicle, you need to go and test drive it for yourself.Absolutely had a blast on the test drive. Nothing like looking sideways and feeling like you're fixing to fall over and don't. Very nice smooth ride. The vehicle is no speed racer, but wasn't looking for a race car. As far as comfort, no complaints. Actually, our hummer feels and looks very luxurious. We are averaging about 17 MPG at this point. Better than our Chevrolet Suburban we owned. The only complaint I have is the limited view when backing up. With the smaller window and tire, a back up sensor is needed as a safety device.
Cons: Needs back up sensor.
Advice: test drive during the day and night/negotiate price/Awesome to drive. I will have back up sensor put on, should have come on vehicle due to size. Overall, very happy with feel and drive. Great purchase, so fun to drive.
Pros: Lots of room, sexy vehicle
Cons: 10 miles to the gallon
Advice: Like nothing else. This has to be the best SUV I have seen yet. It is a sleek, sexy and surpisingly powerful vehicle for its size. However, if you're looking for fuel efficiency... this (or any large SUV) is not for you. If gas is not a concern... you will not find a sexier SUV. The one I drove had a 6' lift, 37' tires and was glossy black. Lots of room, touch screen navigation, dvd player etc... it was loaded to the 9's. I figure with all the extras this vehicle had over $70k spent on it.
Pros: Off road ability
Cons: Would like more options in the cab
Advice: If your concerned about what people think of you buy a Toyota HybridJust bought a 06 H2 SUT and believe I made the right choice for me. I don’t mind the gas mileage my wife’s Jeep only averages 13 mpg and my old truck was the same. I don’t off road very often but the area we go to has terrible roads that have claimed plenty of plastic bumper covers and extra body parts. The one Hummer I’ve seen up there always makes it through and has never lost any body moldings. I’ll tell you one thing that made me pick the H2 is all the people who absolutely hate these vehicles for reasons that don’t make any sense. Looking at the idiots on the FUH2 web site made we want one of these things even more. Thanks FUH2!
Cons: lack of horsepower
Advice: do not buy it if you are looking for quick acceleration or horsepowerThe truch is very sluggish at best!
Pros: Comfort, street cred
Cons: Nothing, really. The mileage isn't great, but if you don't know that going in you've been living on mars.
Advice: Make sure you like attention.More comfortable than you could imagine. The ride is surprisingly good for a truck designed for (and capable of in spades) off road prowess. Its also a very quiet vehicle, at highway speeds the bad aerodynamics generate some wind noise, but at lower speeds only gentle tire noise breaks up a very hushed ride. Personalization options abound, and the H2 still draws attention like few other vehicles on the planet. Mileage varies with how its driven.
