this car is nothing short of amazing! most fun car you could possibly buy
Pros: The shifter
Cons: Lack of an option for navigation for the U.S. (Japanese spec S2000's have this option)
Advice: Test drive it. P.S.: The car responds REALLY well to steering inputThe S2000 is a drivers car. In order to truly appreciate the beauty behind the engineering, it has to be pushed to 8200RPM. The VTEC system is flawless, the handling is quick and crisp, with the steering wheel giving the driver tons of feedback. The shifter is the best I've ever encountered. One test drive of this car is all it takes to get a true auto enthusiast hooked. After I drove this machine, no other vehicle was able to capture my attention. No other car I have ever driven has been able to put a smile on my face everytime I get into it. If you love cars and love to drive, this is the car for you. It will make every commute a joyous occasion.
Cons: I lve it all!!!
Advice: be careful in the rain and snowI bought this 05 s2000 in novemeber of 04, I have since drove about 48k miles (yes I am addicted to it), it is like no other car that I have driven, It is soooo fast and so much fun to drive, at any speed, and you will get noticed by all, You will even get more looks driven this car that driving a Vette, Because there arnt that many s2000 on the road, All I can say is that for the money you get a sports car that is sooo much better than others that cost even two time the amount.
Pros: The badass high-revving engine...
Cons: The soft top... I'll soon replace it with a hard carbon fiber top!
Advice: Drive it like you stole it!Plain and simple; this is a race car for the streets! Countless amounts of potential mods to make it even faster. The NA high-revving engine was definately the selling point for me. I have owned turbo cars in the past, but the response of an NA engine is tough to beat. Not to mention the nearly prefect weight distribution (thanks to the engine being tucked back near the firewall). With practice, you can easily control the car like an extension of your body. Understeer and oversteer conditions can be acheived at your very command. The 6-speed tranny shifts like a dream and heel-toe downshifts can be done seamlessly. There's nothing bad that I can say... You could totally turn this car into a track / street monster if that is your desire (and if you have the cash). Overall a fantastic package for the price!
Pros: Convertible top operation
Cons: there isn't anything about the car I don't like
Advice: compare to BMW and Porshe and you'll buy and have money left overSpectacular roadster. 0-60 acceleration tests at 5.5, and 1/4 in 14 sec./100 mph. Top end = 150. Yet the true strength of this car is the handling. Cornering is literally similar to driving a go-kart. With almost perfect 50/50 ft/rear balance, great tires, rear drive and a wide stance, this car gives you great confidence in all cornering situations. It's also a rush to take the gears up near the redline and have the cams kick in. . .the torque is awesome, and apparently now much more useful with the retuned 2.2 liter v. the previous 2 liter engine. Beautiful car in black, and the compliments are never-ending.
Pros: Almost everything
Advice: Take it easy in the rain/snow!This car is great!! Handles like a dream, as long as the road is dry, and accelerates beautifuly. Definitly a car to look at if you want a roadster.
Pros: Quick acceleration and tight steering.
Cons: Felt every little bump in the road
Advice: Test drive it on a road where you can punch it.This car is sexy looking and fast. The 240 HP engine gives it the ability to accelerate very quickly, even in 6th gear. The steering is incredibly tight and smooth. If you enjoy darting in and out of traffic, this car was made for you. The only thing that I didn't like was that the suspension is so tight, that you feel every little bump in the road, and at 80 mph, I actually felt some vibration-induced nausea... But that might have just been me. Besides, it's a roadster, so I can't complain too much.
