    2003 Honda Pilot - LX

    Summary

Pros: Full time four wheel drive

    Cons: The body style

Advice: Compare the interior room and quality to the competitors.

The Pilot handles well and is very quiet. The turning radius for this type of vehicle is outstanding and stability in a turn seems to measure up also. The Pilot accelerates well from a stop and brakes smooth. All of the controls are close and handy for use by the driver. The view from the drivers seat is pretty clear because of the large windshield. The seats are very comfortable and easily adjustable. Although the looks aren't 'bad', they doen't reach aout and make you take notice.

    Summary

    Pros: The interior spaciousness

Cons: The pricey accessories, ie towing hitch/upgraded coolers pkg.

Advice: You've got to drive it and then go drive the competition

I have 500 miles on an EX-L model; took a 270 mile r/t jaunt to Tucson three days after buying it. Highway handling is impressive for an SUV. Acceleration and passing were no problem (75mph); ride and interior noise were car-like. I went to Tucson to bring my son home from college and managed to load up the Pilot fairly well. The ride back with the extra load and passenger was no different than going down solo. Gas mileage for the r/t was 19 mpg; impressive compared to the Yukon XL we'd traded! Overall fit and finish is very good; materials are first rate. The interior of this vehicle is so much roomier than the exterior would lead you to believe; the middle row comes close to that of the Yukon and the third row is actually habitable for three people. The neat thing about the third row is its ability to fold completely flat without having to remove seats. Great little storage compartments/nooks. At the EX-L trim level, there are only 2 options: a DVD entertainment system or an in-dash Nav system, but not both. The standard equipment list for this trim level is impressive at 31K. Try getting this on an Eddie Bauer Explorer, Envoy XL SLT, or Trailblazer LT and check out their list prices! This SUV is similar to an Acura MDX, same drive train/engine/chassis; just less money. Great value, this Honda Pilot! Just don't try dickering on the list price - yet!

    Summary

Pros: Space. Space in second row, space in thrid row, and carrying space.

Cons: Center consol Basket. I throw everything in there and I DON'T like a messy interior!

Advice: Shop around. Dealer mark-up can be avoided. I rate it as an excellent buy.

Moved up from a CR-V. With only 1500 miles, engine is not broken in and I would rate performance better than adequate, but not outstanding. Has a solid, heavy feel, goes where directed with little fuss. Revs at 75MPH only 2000RPM. Mileage around town at 16-16.5 MPG and highway at 21.5-22 at full highway speeds, I would expect posted speeds would result in 2-3 miles per gallon higher, Gas mileage is increasing as engine breaks in. I expect it to easily meet the EPA figures of 17 city and 22 highway for most drivers.

    Pros: Performance

Cons: Had to pay sticker-But worth it

Advice: Drive it and you'll be hooked. There is nothing that compares.

From the moment I sat in the Pilot, I knew it was the vehicle I wanted. After the test drive I simply said, 'I'll take it'. I was blown away at the comfort and styling. It's got plenty of get up and go. Sitting in it you can feel the quality. Those Pilot engineers didn't forget anything!

    Summary

Pros: It can run on Regular gas

    Cons: Nothing

Advice: If you can afford it get it but the thing is that for a few thousand extra you could have the Lexus RX300 or you gould get the Acura MDX

Ok when I was first looked at the thing I was scared because I really dont like to be up high but after I got in it I was amazed to see that I loved it what I really liked was how the ride felt it felt as smooth as a car but the thing is that it costs 37,000 loaded and the CRV loaded is 27,000. I hate the price but it is worth it Every thing in it is real fancy and I bet once anyone gets into it they will be hooked It is about as big as the dodge durrango I loved the SUV The thing is that I hated is that you cant buy one w/ a moon roof because the acura MDX has one and they didn't want the pilot to have one
