2006 Honda Pilot - EX 4x4
Submitted on 10/31/2011 7:12:36 AM- Summary
- The mechanical performance of this Honda Pilot has been outstanding. The only deficit of this automobile is road noise. If this problem could be eliminated, this would be as close to perfect as an SUV could be. At 104,000 miles,it was time to have the timing belt, brakes, drive belts and water pump replaced so I decided to trade for another automobile.

2006 Honda Pilot

Good ride
Pros: Easy to get in and out of
Cons: Tire noise, fixed it with a set of Michelins
Very comfortable on long hauls. Tire noise was a problem but a set of Michelin Latitude tires took care of that. Gets 20-22 mpg, got 26 one time in Montana. Not a real looker but the newer version is worse. Go for it.

Fantastic autombile.
Pros: The comfort of the seats.
Cons: A little to much road noise.
We have close to 100,000 miles on this vehicle and still love everything about it. Besides normal maintenance we have had to do nothing to this car. Great comfort ,good ride, and more than ample room. Best car we have ever owned.

2006 Honda Pilot
Submitted on 5/11/2010 6:42:36 PM- Summary
A little disappointing
Pros: General concept
Cons: Fit and Finish
This pilot is the fifth new Honda I've bought in my life. It is also the most disappointing. I've owned 3 civics and a V6 Accord. These cars were all put together well and performed as they were designed to wonderfully. My Pilot that I bought new in 2006 although generally a good vehicle and great concept it does fall short. It is somewhat under powered and the transmission is clunky, it seems to not want to gear up. The interior finish was the biggest disappointment. Nothing matches up properly, doors sills bending up, etc. The exterior is not up to Hondas standards, panels rubbing each other, taking off paint. I've also noticed that in the winter the doors quite often get frozen shut. This has caused a few panic situations as I do have 2 toddlers in the middle row seats. This vehicle has made me start looking at other manufacturers.

2006 Honda Pilot - EX-L FWD
Submitted on 5/5/2007 6:38:02 PM- Summary
Pros: Third row of seats, sunroof
Cons: Audio Controls
Advice: Get the side rails from the dealer - they really enhance the look,
Amazing power and road stability for an SUV. Poor fuel economy, but what do you expect? The radio controls are really strange, and take much getting used-to. I took the Pilot in the woods (Pine Barrens in NJ) today for the first time - in deep sand, the computer 'took over' the traction - again strange, but very effective - this is the best vehicle I have ever owned

Pros: Leather interior and moonroof
Cons: Gas mileage - but it is an SUV

Wow! Rides smooth. Easy to handle. Doesn't feel so big and heavy. Comfortable. Roomy.
