    2005 Honda Odyssey - EX

    Pros: Automatic sliding rear doors

Cons: Durability of Air Conditioning Condensor

Advice: Read the reviews before purchasing

I was extremely disappointed in the mileage and even more disappointed in the fact that I have needed to replace the air conditioning condensor, which is about $850 in parts and labor, twice in two years. This is not covered in the bumper to bumper warranty. Apparently, a tiny rock flying through the grill and into the condensor is enough to totally destroy it. I really wanted to purchase a Suburban or Yukon XL, but decided on the Honda because of the better gas mileage. Even with the bad mileage and the first condensor replacement, I was extremely pleased with the Van. But the second condensor replacement has me thinking this will be an annual $850 cost. Considering the cost of this vehicle, the fear I now have of small rocks, I wish I would have gone with another option.

    2005 Honda Odyssey - Touring

Pros: Smooth drive and solid feel to the Odyssey

Cons: Bit costly for self sealing tires. No New vehicles available for purchase 'Touring Edition'

Advice: Buy with confidence in the Honda line. Wish we would have done it earlier

Honda Odyssey Touring is an Incredible vehicle for the price. Test driven Nissan, Toyota Sienna both a bit soft in turns and slight plow in corners. Incredible value on the Odyssey we currently have removed ourselfs from the U.S. car market due to costly repairs numerous recalls and poor craftmanship. Wish we would have looked sooner before spending hard earned money on GM JUNK!! The Odyssey has performed very well and many features and weel thought out controls. We will be a returning client to the Honda line.

    2005 Honda Odyssey - Touring w/DVD RES/Nav

Pros: the entire vehicle less the tires

    Cons: the tire system

Advice: wind noise and a super bad tire and wheel combo.

This is our third Odyssey,at $38000.00 and now 9800 miles. The front brake rotors have been replaced, front empac sensor, plastic piece on cowl and plastic pieces on the doors replaced to try to stop some of the wind noise. Now the Michelin run flat tires are wareing on the out side. The dealeship in Bluefield WV. checked the alighnment and three wheels were out from the factory, the dealership sayes not there fault,Honda said we'll pro rate it.only Honda can break this special tire and wheel down,by the way there $550.00 per tire and wheel.I just talked to the Honda dealer, the tire warrenty went from a 2 yr. to a 5yr on pro rating.Sounds like there's a weasel on board this Honda Touring model,so the fight is to get my tires replaced, due to a factory tire miss alighment.

    2005 Honda Odyssey - LX

Pros: Love that car-like driving feeling and looks.

Cons: Road noise at 2000 RPM/50 MPH

Advice: Wait until next year to see if they correct it or learn to live with it.

One of first buyers in Nov/04. Love the comfort, smooth ride, interior features, powerfull engine (got 255 hp in 2005, now is 244hp for 2006)I doubt there is much difference. We've driven it with load of passengers and very responsive. Quality shows in interior controls and car-like ride. I am taking it to the Smokly Mountains this winter w/7 people. Only drawback is road noise at exactly 50 mph which goes away by decelerating or accelerating, dealer said is road noise, sounds more like tire noise. Hope Honda corrects it. Hope is not tranny problem down the road.

    2005 Honda Odyssey - Touring

Pros: The rear power lift gate (when it works)

Cons: Nothing- we love the vehicle itself.

Advice: Do NOT buy the Touring Model- too many problems with the extra features

We love the Honda Odyssey, however we want to warn you about buying the Touring Model: 1) The run flat tire technology is not widespread. We live in a major city and there are only a handful of authorized dealers. Most can only replace the entire wheel (cost $500) and not the tire only. You could potentially be stranded without a replacement tire if you are more than 100 miles from an authorized dealer. 2) Our parking sensors have malfunctioned off and on for the entire time we're owned this vehicle (14months). 3) If the power lift gate malfunctions, there is no way to open it manually. Ours has malfunctioned frequently in the last three months. We think this is a safety issue Honda needs to address.

    2005 Honda Odyssey - EX-L

Pros: Well laid out dash and controls

    Cons: nothing

Advice: Shop around on the internet for the best price, I got mine at invoice when it first came out

This is my third Odyssey, my last being an '03 EXL. The 2005 Odyssey EXL is by far the most superior minivan out there in terms of comfort, power, handling and a myriad of well thought out features inside. I would recommend this minivan to anyone who wants to drive in comfort, style, and with tons of room inside.
