2010 Honda Insight

what I expected from Honda
Pros: gas mileage
Cons: cost of regular maintenance - especially at local dealer
The Insight does what you expect it to do; it gets good mileage (about 44 mpg for me) and it stays away from the repair shop, except for scheduled maintenance. No one will mistake it for a sports car, even though it looks sporty. When the electric motor kicks in on uphill stretches, the engine still labors to hold speed. Overall, however, I'm very satisfied.

Don't worry about gas prices
Pros: MPG and fun to drive
Cons: back seat room
We love this little car. Bought it in August 2009 and have driven it 10,000 miles without worry of gas prices. Very comfortable and fun to drive. My wife and I play a game (which this car teaches you how to play) to see how high a miles per gallon we can get. So far 54mpg is our top!

2010 Honda Insight

fuel milage
Pros: Auto stop at red lights, no fuel burned
Cons: actual milage against factory ratings
I have a new Honda insight, and the car is fantastic. The only thing I do not like is that it will not get the miles per gallon that they say. In Europe where I bought mine, they say, 4.7 liters per 100 klm city, 4.1, highway and 4.4 combined. Not true, I have done everything possible and the best I can get is 5.8 per 100 klm and most of the time it is 6.2 per 100. I think all car makers should be realistic about milage. we do not drive on flat leval roads as set speeds. cars should be tested in actual city driving and regular highway driving, not test tracks. Other than that it is a great car and well priced under the Toyota Prius.

Outstanding
Pros: Technological dash board.
Cons: Price.
If viewed for what it's meant to be, and that is an in-town economy car, one can only say the Honda Insight is a winner. We average 38 to 42 actual mpg with only in town driving. If you have to drive on the highway everyday, this car is not for you. I hate to say it, but you'd prolly like the Prius much better on the open road.
