Not comfortable on any long ride. Performance is not too bad. GPS system is the best I have seen. For a short commuter car this is probably the best. For a family car, it is not my first choice.

Summary
Below average except for mpg
Pros: MPG is its only redeaming feature
Cons: Noise
I've owned over 20 cars and this car has the worst cabin noise of them all. The road noise and final drive noise makes me reach for the earplugs.

Pros: I like the windshield wipers and the ipod dock that allows me to play it on my car stereo.
Cons: Everything mentioned above. I suppose the worst is the accelerationa and braking delays. It cannot get out of its own way on highwayentrances.
OK, I wanted a hybrid for all the usual reasons: use less fossil fuel, create less carbon emissions, support attempts at changing technologies and ultimately removing our dependence on oil. This car has some cool features: a usb port for my ipod, and windshield wipers that truly clear the windshield because they move independently to the middle and out again. But, this car is basically annoying. To start with, peripheral visibility through the windshield is poor for the driver. When turning or going around a bend, I have to lean over the steering wheel to peer past the sides of the windshield and see what is ahead of me. Next, is the annoying built in feature of all the doors, except for the driver's side door, remaining locked after the car stops, is put in park and turned off. It makes sense to lock them all when the car is moving, but why must they all be locked when you stop the car?! Acceleration is poor and there is a delay in both acceleration and braking that makes it difficult to do either smoothly. I am not the only one to note this. My husband, friends, and 32 y/o son all noted the same thing. when you start to accelerate, nothing happens and then suddenly, the car bursts forward. The car cannot get out of its own way which is fine until you are trying to enter a highway or parkway in NYC or elsewhere. It's basically dangerous. Uphill is even worse. I live in northern NY. Lots of snow. Even with snow tires, I've learned to avoid certain roads. When you initiate braking, it stops hard at first, and the normal adjustment is to lighten pressure on the brake pedal, but the deceleration doesn't continue smoothly. Suddenly to come to a full stop, you have to readjust and jam the brakes to stop completely. It is not smooth. Mileage is around 30-35 mpg. Good, but not the special fantastic mileage I expected from a hybrid. I could get that with a traditional engine fuel efficient car. As it is a smaller car, with a very small trunk, it would be helpful if the rear seats folded down to create extra room when needed. They don't. I have had to borrow cars to transport things from the hardware and garden stores. If the seats folded down, the items would have fit. Overall, I would not recommend this car unless all those annoying little features would not bother the buyer.
