Cons: air conditioningThe best Accord I ever owned. This is #3.
Pros: the steering wheel controls
Cons: cabin noiseThe appearance on the 2009 honda accord looks really nice. The performance on the is not all impressive, the cabin noise is horrible on highway speeds. There is no back support, on long drives my lower back was in serious pain.
Pros: ECO engine performance
Cons: Harsh rideChose the EXL-V6 after researching and test driving Accord and Altima. After one year, the harsh ride finally got to us. Think the 17' wheels and low profile tires caused uncomfortable ride harshness. Confining bucket seats with high bolsters presented other problems. Decided to trade to 2.5SL with 16' wheels and much smoother/softer ride. Altima actually more fun to drive and spirited handling as well.
1st & Last Honda
Pros: I liked the style of the car, its handling, acceleration, comfort and visibility of the space around the car.
Cons: All the initial issues for a new car and subsequent evolving issues, like the windshield, oil consumption for a car with only 7000 miles.Right from the start, like no other vehicle that I have ever owned, not even my previous worst car, the 2009 Accord EXL 6 cylinder has been the ultimate worst. What happened to Honda and all the hype? First the brakes chattered on my very first mileage, the tires (Michelin) vibrated, the windshield cracked while the car was parked during the work day, the car was burning oil. Mind you this is a brand new Honda. What does Honda do for the issues? They replaced the brake rotors and pads. The dealer credited me the original equipment tires and replaced the tires with those of my choosing at my expense, including charging me for the mounting and balancing. Honda did nothing for the cracked windshield. I had to have it repaired through my insurance. The insurance company informed me that they won a million dollar claim against Honda for cracked windshields on a number of their vehicles. What does that say about the wonderful Honda company? The oil burning is being investigated with an oil consumption test. They did an oil change and will monitor the usage. Big deal! How about new cylinder rings? ( I once had a Volvo that had consumption issues. Volvo did nothing to fix the oil consumption while the car was under warranty, but when the car was out of warranty, new rings fixed the consumption issue at my expense.) Another item that seems to be affecting Honda Accord owners with more miles on their cars, than mine currently has (7000 miles), is premature wear of the rear break pads. Mileage on the vehicles is about 15,000 when the pads need to be replaced. This is a Honda issue that has been around since the 1980's. Does Honda fix problems? 30 years is a very long time for a brake issue to go unresolved. No car manufacturer that I am familiar with would stick their customers for new brakes while the car is under warranty, but Honda does.
2009 Honda Accord EX-L, V6
Pros: Confort & handling
Cons: Road noise.Honda Accord,EX-L V-6 With NAV,great handling great on gas.Just returned from a trip to south Florida. averaged a little over 30 mpg. for 1,200 plus miles each way.I also own a 2006 accord, V6
Pros: Rear visability
Cons: Stiff suspension.
Advice: Buy it if you want a great reliable car.The ride is firm. The road noise is no worse than other cars we have owned. The car has all of the automatic features that make driveing a pleasure. The view when backing up is better than some. The Honda Accord has a sports car feel and a pleasure to drive in our community.
