2003 Honda Accord - 2.4 EX (A5) Coupe
Pros: Comfort and CD player
Cons: See test drive review
Advice: Get the extended warrantyI loved this car the second I drove it off of the lot, but there are more problems with this car than I expected. This is my first Honda and I am not satisfied with my purchase. I am on 31,000 miles and have had my brakes replaced 3 times, rotors cut 4, my whole CD player replaced, a new center console door and my sunroof and 2 windows are rattling for some reason. I am at the dealership at least 2-3 times a month (not inclusing oil changes). I think that I just have a bad first model year car. All of my friends have Hondas and love them and have had NO problems with them at all. I didn't purchase the extended warranty becasue 'it's a Honda, who needs one!' I'm eating those words right now. I have written to everyone I can and haven't heard anything back yet? Any suggestions?
2003 Honda Accord - 2.4 LX (A5) Coupe
Pros: Interior comfort;ergonomics
Cons: Some rattle in door panels
Advice: Much nicer and quicker than 4 cyl. Altima and so much more car than Civic for not much more moneyThe 4 cyl gives fair low end response, but really likes to rev high, even with the AT. The fit and finish here makes me wonder why anyone buys a Nissan, other than for looks. I have had only one slight problem; the driver's side door panel rattles slightly on bumps, but it is only a minor annoyance given the otherwise flawless engineering here. For my first Japanese car, this was the perfect choice. The Altima seemed more sluggish, and was plasticky and cheap feeling inside, comparatively. For only 2K more than the EX Civic, this LX is a ton more car than the Civic ever was. Civics try to race me a lot, and on the few occasions I took them up on their offer, I smoked them. But Accords are for a more intelligent crowd;penny-wise and quality oriented. If you want a really fast car, try a 03 Z06 Vette. Civics still try to race me, but I go only after bigger bait in that car!
2003 Honda Accord - 3.0 EX w/Leather (M6) Coupe
Pros: The pickup
Advice: Great car but problems with brakesExcept for the problems with brakes, I love this car - my third Accord. Great pickup, good handling and very comfortable. However at 5000 miles the wheel began shaking when I braked. Dealer fixed the rotors as a '1 time complimentary' service. 7000 miles later the whole car vibrates badly when I brake. They say I must pay for the rotors and pads and it must be due to the way I brake. My other 2 Accords had over 150,000 and 170,000 miles and never had this problem. Very disappointed if I have to have rotors and pads replaced every 5000 to 7000 miles.
2003 Honda Accord - 3.0 EX w/Leather (A5) Coupe
Cons: Blind spot when backing up
Advice: Before you buy the 4 drive the V6Looks, Power, safety features, comfort, this car has it all Nothing more to say.
2003 Honda Accord - 2.4 EX (M5) Coupe
Cons: Overall Construction Quality
Advice: Look at Altima 2.5/ 3.5 before you decide on this one-Would not buy another Honda. Disappointingly, quality reputation largely not met. Went through a set of brakes in 5000 miles. Friend with same car in 4-door is on his 3rd set of brakes at 15000 miles. Many minor flaws. Performance is OK for 4 cyl 160HP engine. Milage is also disappointingly below what it should be (very important in southern CA!). Would not buy another Honda.
2003 Honda Accord - 3.0 EX w/Leather/Navi (A5) Sedan
Pros: Confortable and excellent handling
Cons: Wish had less wind noise at higher speeds
Advice: If you want a great car for less than $25K, this is it!Great car for the money. Much better compared to Europen models costing twice as much. I am very happy with this purchase. I had an Accord before and hope to enjoy the same trouble free experience.
