2006 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLT 4x2 Crew Cab
Pros: THE LOOK OF THE TRUCK
Advice: GET THE SLT MODELMY GMC IS A GREAT TRUCK.THE ONLY THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT MY TRUCK IS THAT I WISH I GOT MORE GAS MILIAGE.BUT THE TRUCK IT SELF IS BUILT TUFF.THE 5.3L RUN VERY STRONG.
2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLE 4x4 Regular Cab 6.5' Box
Pros: 5.3 liter vortec V-8
Advice: Buy it! you wont be sorry.I bought my first new Sierra in June of 04, After driving Ford, Toyota, and Dodge My Sierra blows them all away. This truck has it all comfort, power, and looks. I love the off road package and have already tested it with spectacular results. I have owned several other 4X4s in the past years and this one puts them to shame.
2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLT 4x2 Crew Cab
Pros: Plenty of room for kids and cargo
Cons: Tire wear, rides too soft
Advice: Be prepared to deal with cranky service peopleOverall I am happy with this truck. My only complaint after one year is tire wear, specifically on the right front. The truck has 13,000 plus miles and I have had one alignment and one tire rotation by dealer, and a second alignment with independent. Independent inspected and test drove truck and mentioned the shocks were bad and with warranty I should take it to the dealer. Took to dealer immediately, and because the service manager 'went to bat' for me they replaced the struts, but was told the worn tire was my problem, not theirs.
2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLE 4x2 Regular Cab 8' Box
Pros: 5.3L engine, very smooth
Cons: lack of external fuel filter, in tank now
Advice: do not get tow package if you want boulevard rideExcellent handling for a long wheel-base pickup. Stiff suspension is standard with tow package, but is excellent when towing. Plenty of power with 5.3 L engine and decent mileage, up to 20 MPG on highway, averaging 17.5 MPG combined. Comfortable seating, even on long drives. Braking is excellent, even with the return to drums on rear. Dual caliper discs with larger rotors on front seem to provide better brake quality than previous years with rear discs. Entire truck is well put together, very tight.
2006 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLT 4x4 Crew Cab
Cons: Electrical and mechanical problems.
Advice: Do not buy the top of the line to many electrical problems.I traded in a great Silerado for this unbelievable headache. This truck has had numerous electrical problems.Starting the 2nd day I owned it and continues today purchased 9-04 at dealership 9-04 I have had problems with seats, mirrors, rear end, transmisson and compass.I advised GM and filed complaint no satisfaction.By the way it now has 6000 miles and I purchased new 9-04 it is now 10-05.For over 50,000 dollars this would seem to be a great truck. This is one of the biggest regrets I have ever purchased.
2006 GMC Sierra 1500 - AWD Crew Cab
Cons: Gas mileage
Advice: If you have to pull a boat or haul thingsQuick off the start. Great looking black beauty! Interior is great quality. Easy to read instruments. Comfortable to drive with 6 way adjustable seats. I have not found anything wrong with this vehicle
2006 GMC Sierra 1500 - SL 4x4 Regular Cab 6.5' Box
Pros: safe and comfortable
Cons: not a true family vehicle and gas mileage is bad- expensive vehicle to drive for a family vehicle
Advice: definitely a great truck, one of the best!!We have had our 2004 Sierra for a year, bought it brand new and we LOVE it! Only thing that I can suggest is to get the bed lined. And if you have a baby, it is difficult to get our son in and out as he is growing bigger, only because of the heighth of the vehicle. We are considering a minivan, but I think that I'll cry if we have to trade in our pickup. We feel very safe and comfortable in the Sierra. Drives great and no road noise. Awesome stero. We're gonna try to hold on to it for as long as possible.
