The pickup truck is a very important vehicle for the Detroit-based Ford car brand. Ford trucks have been produced by the Ford Motor Company since 1908, and many models of Ford pickups that have been produced for decades are still in production. The Ford F-Series is the most popular and the longest-running model of pickup that carries the Ford badge. Models in the Ford F-Series pickup truck line have been in production since 1948, and are still available. The Ford F-Series is a full size pickup truck that features a front-engine layout. The F-Series is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Ford commercial vehicles, including commercial pickup trucks, have been built in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. The Ford pickup truck lineup represents an important element of Ford’s global brand strategy. The F-150 is the most popular of the Ford F-Series pickup truck line, and it is a very popular vehicle among pickup truck drivers. It was the best selling vehicle in the United States for 32 years, and the best selling pickup truck in the country for 43 years. The Ford F-150 has also earned the designation of being the best selling vehicle in Canada.

Though the F-150 is the most popular of the Ford pickup truck models, Ford also makes and sells other models in the F-Series line. These pickup models include the F-250, the F-350, the F-450, the F-550, the F-650, and the F-750. In the tenth generation of the F-Series lineup, which was introduced for the 1998 model year, the F-250 and F-350 were redesigned so they could become part of the Ford Super Duty pickup truck lineup. The Super Duty line is actually a medium duty truck lineup, although it’s designed and marketed to consumers as well as for commercial use. Ford also had a line of heavy duty commercial trucks, which was sold to the Freightliner Trucks company in 1997. In 2001, Ford made moves to rejoin the commercial truck market through a partnership with Navistar International. This venture, the Blue Diamond Truck Company LLC, discontinued its heavy-duty LCF truck in 2009. However, Ford is still concentrating on the F-Series lineup, including the best-selling light duty F-150 pickup truck, the Super Duty F-650 and F-750 trucks, and plenty of medium duty models in between, available in a wide variety of configurations.
