2002 Ford Explorer Sport - Value Manual (200A) 4x4
Pros: Exterior look and available Leather package.
Cons: Wind noise at speeds above 55 mph
Advice: I'd suggest test driving at typical driving speed of 65-70 mph to test for wind noise. The Explorer Sport was a wonderful test drive. It was a smooth ride, much smoother than your typical 'pickup truck' feel of an SUV. Handling is good and stopping power with the ABS braking system is excellent. The only fault I can find with this vehicle is the increase of wind noise at vehicle speeds over 55 mph. I love the looks of the vehicle and the available leather seating package is a nice addition. Excellent sound system. The vehicle I test drove had a premium sound system with 6 CD in-dash changer. The sound system was also satellite radio ready. Very fun to drive and hauling cargo is a snap. The 60/40 split folding rear seats are easy to handle as well.
2002 Ford Escape - XLT Choice (400A) 4x4
Pros: It has very good handling in traffic and on country roads
Cons: Placement of the gear shift lever is awkward
Advice: If you are looking for a 4 1/2 passenger smaller SUV with a lot of good features and good power and handling, this is a good choice. It has good handling on many different road surfaces and in traffic and on freeways as well as country roads. It has better window and mirror than on the other SUV's I sat in. I like its rugged looks, its versatility and its ample room as a small SUV.
2002 Ford Mustang - GT Deluxe (130A) Coupe
Pros: the mach system
Cons: i dont like how the doors can be opened from the inside when they are locked
Advice: be careful it ha s alot of power but everyone should own oneI took a test drive in a 2002 mustang gt about 3 weeks ago i loved it so much i had to buy it i dont think their is anything anyone could hate about this car it handles well and is comfy... so i had to buy it
2002 Ford Expedition - XLT 4x4
Advice: consider a DurangoGot this as a company car about six months ago. So far it has been in the shop once, for a failed sunroof mechanism that is still not right. Overall, I have to say that the ergonomics as well as the fit and finish of the interior is of lesser quality than my old 1998 model. The interior, in general, feels like it went through a downgrade. Get in an Explorer, then get in an Escape. All the same switches and controls. Seats are less comfortable too. That being said, the Explorer is still a great warrior for the urban jungle. Great visibility, good turning radius, and tons of space. I love the new suspension, the engine and tranny (although the shift points take some time to get used to), and the new bodywork.
2002 Ford Taurus - SES Standard (300A) Sedan
Pros: Comfortable ride, stylish looks
Cons: Power antenna not available
Advice: Test drive it, you'll love itA pleasure to drive. Vehicle drives and handles very impressively. Quiet ride, very responsive acceleration. Great sound system.
2002 Ford Explorer - XLT 4x4
Pros: 7 PASSENGERM SEATING CAPABILITY
Cons: REAR HATCH DOES NOT LATCH PROPERLY ALL OF THE TIME- NEEDS TWO TO THREE TRIES AT TIMES!
Advice: MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL OF THE REBATES AND INCENTIVES THAT FORD IS OFFERINGAS SOON AS I DROVE THE TRUCK FOR THE FIRST TIME, I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE IT! THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT THE TRUCK IS DRIVEN BY WIFE EVERY DAY- I ONLY GET TO DRIVE IT ON WEEKENDS! I LOVE THE SMOOTH AND QUICK ACCELERATION AND 'CADDY LIKE RIDE' OF THE NEW SUSPENSION!
2002 Ford Explorer - Eddie Bauer 4x2
Pros: New Styling
Cons: No 3rd seat option for XLS model
Advice: If your looking for low cost SUV, look at Explorer XLS modelLooked at numerous year end SUV offers. 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 was by far the best choice. Awesome new styling. Quiet ride. Great room compared to other vehcles (Santa FE, Escape, CRV, etc.) in this price range ($24,500). Great Ford financing! 4.9 60 months, 3.9 36 months, 3.9 24 months....
