Pros: The overall size of the vehicale
Cons: no tilt steering wheelGreat for frist time vehical owner, fun to drive on street and off-road, esy one gas, compact
Pros: standard transmition
Cons: Rearend is very light, gets stuck easy, The engine has tooooooo much electrical but that is all new vehicles.
Advice: Get a Bigger Motor than the 2.3L and 4x4 (Lacks power but good on gas)hay i got the 2.3l dohc. runs good but lacks power. ive pulled a ton in the bed. pulled it 75 mph for about 100 miles so it has a lil pep in it.
Pros: Surprisingly quick
Cons: Rev limited to 90 MPH
Advice: A good deal but watch for abuseThis truck is solid, comfortable and quick. The ride is a little rough but the seats hold you in. The 4.0L V-6 winds fast and the automatic transmission is geared to keep the engine revved up through the gears. This has been a good deal for me, bought used.
Pros: Cruise control
Cons: Comfort when riding for a long time
Advice: Buy this truck! Very reliable!!Very reliable truck! I have driven for almost 2 years now and have had no problems at all with this truck. Comfort could be improved a bit, but I am overall impressed with the quality of the truck. The 3.0 engine has plenty of power when you need it. I installed a K&N air filter and it improved the fuel mileage by 3 MPG. Buy this truck!!
Pros: The 5-speed automatic.
Cons: The interior.
Advice: Take a look at all of the models to find the right one for you.Our 2002 Ranger has been a wonderful truck. It currently has a little over 3,000 miles on it and has not let us down. The 3.0 V6 is responsive and has plenty of tourqe. The sheetmetal in the bed seems prone to denting (not a problem with our previous Ranger), the interior plastics could be better and a crew cab should be offered for those of us who don't like the Explorer Sport Trac, but other than that, it has been a great truck. Traction in snow and ice is suprisingly good for a RWD truck, but sand in the bed is still a must. Overall, if you need a reliable, efficient and powerful truck, take a good long look at the Ranger.
Pros: Shift on the fly 4x4
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: Go for the 4 doorsI own a 2002 Ranger Edge Supercab 4x4 with the 4.0 sohc V6, automatic transmission and four doors. I would definitly reccomend it to anyone. The engine is strong, very strong. Styling is wonderful. I even get compliments from die hard chevy fans. Only down fall is the the gas with the 4.0 V6. I get about 14 in the city and 17 on the highway. Im sure with a better airfilter that that will go up. Go for the four doors. Really is a added convenience and the hard cover on the back looks great and actually serves a useful purpose. Off Road it performs superbly. Drive through the snow and on gravel and it does fine. Never been stuck. All in all it is the best deal for a midsize truck under 25000. Heck, its better than all trucks in its class.
Pros: Its appearance and added suspension and load capacity
Cons: I don't have a rear door on my Edge.
Advice: Get the power windows option. The ride is a bit stiffer than what I am used to, but the extra suspension on the vehicle explains that. It also holds the road well, and in curves at high speed its handling is excellent. I thought the mileage on the highway would be better than 20 mpg.
