May was a very good month for Ford. The brand moved 246,585 vehicles, representing 14 percent increase when compared to last May and being Ford's best month in sales so far this year.
Not surprisingly, the F-Series pickup was Ford's big seller for the month. However, May was the month that F-Series broke into the 70,000 mark by moving 71,604 pickups. Not only does this represent a 31 percent increase from last May, it marks the first time the F-Series has reached 70,000 units since 2007.
Following the F-Series was the Fusion, posting May sales numbers of 29,553. This represents a 10 percent increase from last May and is the Fusion's best month so far. Just 430 units behind the Fusion is the Escape which saw an increase of 29.7 percent compared to last May and puts it just ahead of the Honda CR-V.
Meanwhile at Lincoln, May was a mixed bag. The MKZ saw its sales rise 42 percent to 3,490 vehicles. Every other model, most notably the MKS and MKT, saw a drop in sales.
