Models Begin Rolling Off Flat Rock, MI Assembly Line
2015 ford mustang production
Shown for the very first time last December, production of the 2015 Ford Mustang officially began on Thursday, August 28th at the blue oval's Flat Rock, MI assembly plant. This marks not only the sixth-generation of Ford's storied pony car, but a first for the model. Starting with this generation, Ford will be selling the Mustang in 120 different countries, meaning that right-hand drive units will also enter production for the first time.
“Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon. Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience – one unlike any other,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas.
