We hope we don't run short on dollar bills before the big 2010 Mustang GT reveal!

Those PR guys at Ford are ruthless! Ford is trying to build anticipation for the debut of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT at the 2008 Los Angeles auto show by releasing one ambiguous teaser photo a week. Frustration might be a better word than anticipation, but something better than nothing, and in this case it's closer to nothing. Very little is known about the upcoming 2010 Ford Mustang GT, just what can be divined from the shadowy images and pried from the tight-lipped guys at Ford. But we can always speculate...

Five-spoke painted wheels with the appropriate Mustang motif centered at all four corners are a sure bet after the release of this teaser image. What's not known is size and finish options. With the 2009 Ford Mustang GT rolling on 18-inch wheels, has Ford stepped up to 19s on the 2010 Mustang GT? (We deviously tried to read the sidewall with Photoshop tricks, but Ford got us again)

This teaser image of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT seats shows a bit of retro styling in the seat cushion, but the exclusion of the piping and addition of the French seams are definitely the modern touch. The design theme of the cushion is carried into the door panels where a storage pocket is also obvious. A more modern center console resides between the Mustang GT seats with what appear to be multiple storage areas.

Clean, simple lines make up the front of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT. A closer look also reveals what appear to be recessed headlights and grille-covered turn signals. Too bad a bit more of the center grille isn't shown. We can also deduce that gold will be a color option for the Mustang GT.

Ford teases us with this image of the front interior of the 2010 Mustang GT. We can see large round openings in the IP for tach and speedometer along with a thick leather steering wheel with matching French seams. It doesn't appear Ford has strayed much from traditional Mustang GT design with this update.

Well, we know it's a convertible. Ford is being very careful not to reveal too much of the 2010 Mustang GT by way of the teaser photos. We can see a sharp body line running down the side incorporating the body-color door handle. It also appears the rear quarter panel widening starts at the trailing edge of the door panel and then continues back. If the side mirrors are any indication, the 2010 Ford Mustang GT will have sharper body angles all around.

Finally! A shot of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT that truly shows us some information. We can clearly see the large openings for the Mustang GT speedometer (left) and the tachometer (right) and that the oil and water temp gauges, along with the fuel indicator, reside center. We also get a good look at the steering wheel with the oversized center pad (kind of missed on that one), with Mustang taking center stage. The rest of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT dash sports a clean, uncluttered modern design.

It appears that the 2010 Ford Mustang GT steering wheel will get the standard stereo controls on the left and likely cruise control settings on the right. Faux stainless steel appears to the focal point of the dash and wheel. We also see familiar textured soft touch surfaces that will no doubt reside throughout the Mustang GT interior.

Money be tight. Seems Ford is using off-the-shelf parts to make up the 2010 Mustang GT, at least in this case. Take a close look at the five-speed ball shifter, look familiar? Yep, right off the Bullitt Mustang GT, so much for exclusivity.

Talk about keeping the wraps on the new-for-2010 Ford Mustang GT. Ford couldn't get more elusive with this shot. Outside of the side mirror, which we have already seen, this Mustang shot doesn't show us much. Careful cropping and shadowing delete the grille entirely and disguise the headlight more than the previous shot did. We can see the Mustang GT will have bulging front quarters covering those 5-spoke wheels.

Well, you'd think as we get closer to the debut of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT at the L.A. Auto Show, the pictures Ford chose to release would get a bit more informative. Not the case! In fact, this detail of the Mustang GT hood is one of the most vague in the group. It does lead us to a ton of speculation about what might be under the hood. A bulge -- Ford calls it a "Powerdome" -- can mean they needed room for something, possibly a supercharger, bigger intake or...? On the other hand, maybe this is just a styling cue for the 2010 Ford Mustang GT -- but we can keep our finger crossed and our minds wandering can't we?
