Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
I really look forward to driving this car with the top down. The seats aren't as supportive as I would like or need. Suspension is set for mild performance, not comfort. Mechnically a number of things needed replacement. Had two alternators burn out and replaced under warranty. Top and both rear side windows were replaced, again under warranty. Also some front suspension parts were replaced at dealer suggestion, again warranteed. Only tire and oil changes since warranty expired.
Pros: TOP DOWN!!
Cons: Front passenger seat.Suprised- this car has turned out to be much better than I expected. Not a hot rod with blazing speed but very good performance. 26 MPG summer 24 in winter. Passenger seat is the biggest complaint sits way to low and is not adjustable. Styling is the best basic lines are best, add on non functional components like hood scope and side scopes detract from clean original lines. Rear spoiler should only the lip edge type. I look foward to the new V6 performance and a smoother gear box no need for most of us to to go back to the 5.0 althourh I miss the sound.
Great car over the long-term
Pros: convertiblethis is one of the most fun cars I have ever owned. It looks great, the convertible top is easy to put up and down, seals tight and I can avg 19-20 mpg with the v-8 engine. Not sure what more I can ask from a car! It's been extremely reliable with only oil changes and regular scheduled maintenance. I would recommend to anyone, and I would purchase the same car again.
Pros: The motor and power this car makes is awsome for the price.
Cons: Ford needs to fix the minor problems everyone is having with this vechicle.
Advice: Make sure you test drive the car for 1 day min. and check to see what servies have been done if used.I've had nothing but problems with this car. Limited slip went out twice, AC would not hold Freon (6 times in the shop for this fix), both doors rattle (sounds like someone tapping on glass, paint defects from the factory, stereo system locks up half the time and the car surges when you accelerate after a long trip. O yeah, how could I forget...the power break fluid leaked out of the reservoir and went all over the firewall. I’ve had the car in the shop 10+ times now and I’m trying to decide if I should sell or keep. Anyone want a 06 GT with 8k? =)
Pros: The muscle car feeling
Advice: If you want have a great driving experience without spending a lot of money, go Mustang. This is one fun car to drive. After owning several Ford products in the 90's and being dissapointed, I switched to Toyota. I am now back to Ford and am quite surprised how much better their products have become. Go Ford!
Pros: Great Looks
Cons: Everything breaking every other day.
Advice: Apparently some shotty cars were made, and I just happen to have got one out of the batch.I bought my brand new Mustang a little over a month ago, and it has been in the shop more than it has been in my garage. The air conditioner has gone out twice, the driver seat broke, the headrest lock broke, and now, after taking it in to get the air conditioner serviced..again, they discovered that the lower support arms on the rear of the vehicle are broke. This car has less than 600 miles on it and the dealership is giving me the runaround. They refuse to put me in a new car, even though they agree that this car has way too many problems for a brand new vehicle. Looks like I'm taking my complaints straight to Ford.
Pros: The looks are great.
Cons: trunk lines from the rear
Advice: get one soonWhat a drive!
