Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Our Fusion has been a remarkable vehicle. It's quiet, refined, comfortable and can be fun to drive as well, due to the well sorted handling dynamics. Of course, one of the main reasons we purchased the car was its fuel economy. Over the past three years, we've averaged just over 35 mpg, but we've had many tanks that have returned well past the 40mpg range. Road trips go by with more stops for the restroom and refreshments than for fuel. The car has been completely trouble free so far.
2010 Fusion Hybrid
Pros: high mpg
Cons: lack of power (I'm used to V-8)One of my only complaints is the cloth interior on the Hybrid. It is supposed to be recycled Denim material, but it seems very delicate, not like denim. I have to small tears or cuts after only a few thousand miles. I have a (7) year old truck, that the interior still looks like new, so I'm not hard on an interior.
Outstanding Vehicle w/Exceptional Quality
Cons: NothingDrove 3400 miles on trip w/average of 39.65 mpg which included full day of mountain driving.
Nice Hybrid compared to Prius
Pros: Colored lights on cup holders
Cons: Cyrus radio stationsNice quiet car getting over 27 mg
Efficient, comfortable and surprisingly fun
Pros: Solid refinement.
Cons: The hybrid's batteries eliminate the fold down rear seats.Having initially decided to purchase a BMW, we were intrigued by the press the Fusion Hybrid was receiving. We were pleasantly surprised with the drive, comfort and quality, and the promised efficiency and low emissions made us feel like it was the right thing to do. The technology and features were impressive, and fully loaded it saved us more than $10,000 over our chosen BMW. Figure in the fuel savings and the cost benefit multiplies. Our long term average is 34 mpg in LA driving, with our best tank at 39. We have not been disappointed. Supremely quiet and composed, very comfortable, with a stable and fun to toss platform, quality materials and an intuitive and comprehensive navigation and Sync system, it's a great place to spend time.
Pros: Interior room and all the gadgets.
Cons: If I have to pick something it would be the wheels.
Advice: Drive it.For a Hybrid car I think it is the best you can get. Rides quiet, got all the power I need.Interior looks really nice, got all the gadgets .Was a smart move going to the Fusion Hybrid.Driving like I normally do I'm getting 42MPG.Hope to get a little more in warmer climate.
Pros: 45 MPH in electric mode
Cons: No pass-thru / fold down rear seats due to battery pack location - ski rack mandatory!
Advice: Get the moon & tune package...well worth the extra $$$Best fuel economy in its class...good interior and trunk space. Interior could be a bit more upscale, but the gadgets certainly make up for it with a strong standard package including MS SYNC and reasonably priced upgrade moon & tune package that includes BLISS alert, backup camera, 12 speaker Sony stereo, moonroof, etc. The drive is great, with good handling and decent pep off the line. This car won't win any drag races, but can quickly get up and going with a strong electric drivetrain. 700 miles on a tank of gas?!! Oil prices are going back up...check this baby out and laugh at all the SUV driving Costco soccer moms filling up their tanks.
